8th millenium BC?

So that's not the Normans, nor the Anglo-Saxons, nor the Romans, nor the Celts, nor the other Celts, but the pre-Celtic neolithic tribesmen that they all stole the land from.

So well done roast beef and boiled potatoes were an effort to rid the country of French cuisine?

Karl Pilkington will love this news.

Tastes like chicken! How is this different from frog legs?

2013-10-16 08:23:54 PM
Probably still tastes better than haggis.

Much like Fark, history repeats itself

Monty python is rather humorous.

I was going to say, subby really doesn't understand the first places my mind went.

/ Rumors of cannibalism in the British Nave are nothing but!

See! They DID take out the bones!

2013-10-16 08:26:09 PM
I thought you were going to tell me they were cannibals. That would not have surprised me. Toads did a little bit.

Do they taste like frogs?

Do they taste like chicken?

You know what never tastes like chicken? Duck.

Duck tastes like rabbit.

Duck. Rabbit. Duck. Rabbit. Duck. Rabbit. And in a pinch, lamb.

Nobody eats mutton much any more. The lambs don' live long enough to become mutton (three years or older).

What shall we have for Thanksgiving dinner?

Turkey!

Turkey!

Goose!

Turkey for me.

There can be only one!

Squaaaaaabbbbbble!

OK, that's five votes for turkey, one for goose and one for squab. Wait, there's only six of us. Who voted for squab?

(This joke works best if you can do a good turkey impression.)

I was expecting much worse - like real, raw, spotted dick or something.

If I had to find/catch/kill every single thing that I ate, I'd probably eat a farking toad too. They're easy to catch. There weren't many Safeways around back then.

If you've tasted frog meat, you'd probably like it. The only problem is that the meat is very small so you'd have to order a lot to fill you up. Frog is good as long as the type of frog you're eating isn't the one with poison/toxins.

I've heard it said that the difference between garbage and food is mostly cultural.

there is nothing edible that is universally disliked.  So, yeah.

These guys will be mighty embarrassed when it turns out that it was a badger, fox, or boar who ate and buried the frog legs.

It's oily as all hell, though. Like tuna or salmon, way worse than rib-eye. Must be for the floatation.

Can I get suggestions for a witty headline, so I can submit this tomrrow?
