CRY MOAR.

Instead of actually thinking about what would have happened, you took another hit off the derp stick to sell more copy.

"Editorials like this are akin to being a spouse who is shocked, shocked! that their alcoholic fiance didn't stop drinking when they got married. The guy was an idiot when he ran, and an idiot when you endorsed him. Prefacing an endorsement with a mountain of wish fulfillment doesn't absolve you of culpability of doing your part in foisting this moron on the world. You don't endorse the Senator you hope someone will be, you endorse the Senatorial candidate based on his record as it exists. It was your endorsement. Own it. And do better next time."

yes, you regret endorsing the teabagger retard. Nice that you can look back and see your folly, Chron, but fark you for playing that game in the first place. There are consequences for getting into bed with people that carry the Herp, just like there are consequences for getting into bed with the Teabaggers.

I'm actually pleased by this.  All of my Tea Party relatives are unable to see the Republican role in this completely manufactored crisis.  I began to assume nothing could make a dent in their devotion.  Kudos to the Chron for opening their eyes to the fact the the Tea Party isn't the glorious revolution it's cracked up to being.

The Tea Party was the most cynical effort yet to trick dumbasses into voting for policies that are actively harmful for them. It's people barely clinging to the middle class supporting people who want to make sure there is no middle class in this country.

I don't see Cruz's long game in this unless his goal is to get a show on Faux News. Cruz is alienating everyone but the absolute lunatics.

I'm excited to see a lot of Democrat-leaning groups pushing into Texas if ONLY to balance the idiocy that is Ted Cruz. It's sad because I was looking forward to seeing David Dewhurst try to remain the moderate republican that he is, but it's clear that he feels this only avenue to success is to go full derp in the next election.

Team Wendy is the only viable option at this point for someone like myself who wants to remain Texan but not a right-wing moron.

Texas should elect Walker, Texss Ranger. Not Chuck, the fundie idiot, but Walker. He could single handedly get all of Al Qaeda if he went over there with Trivette, Gage and Carlos.

So you are saying that others are more deserving that him?  He agrees.

And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage. Compared to some of the giants of history who've received this prize - and; and  - my accomplishments are slight. And then there are the men and women around the world who have been jailed and beaten in the pursuit of justice; those who toil in humanitarian organizations to relieve suffering; the unrecognized millions whose quiet acts of courage and compassion inspire even the most hardened cynics. I cannot argue with those who find these men and women - some known, some obscure to all but those they help - to be far more deserving of this honor than I.

It's not really, because most liberals will acknowledge that Obama didn't -- and still doesn't -- deserve the prize.

I'd love to be in the White House when Rahm went to the speech writers and said, "I need an acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize..."

Are you kidding?  Despite the fact that the Chronicle has been kowtowing to the Republicans for at least the last two years in an attempt to stave off going under, the Republican STILL thinks of them as nothing a "lieberal media rag".  This retraction will only further reinforce that.

/no, them endorsing Cruz (and Romney) in the first place does not count
//no, I have no idea why

I was born and raised there and I am ecstatic to see Wendy out there making sense and grabbing attention. It's such a breath of fresh air. Molly Ivins and Ann Richards would be proud.

I have long thought that there are a lot more left leaning people in Texas than most people realize. They aren't involved, vocal, or organized, because they live with the sense that it is futile and that they are vastly outnumbered. I hope that the money coming in to support an exciting candidate will help the state shake off the scourge of the crazy loudmouths.

It's getting louder out here, man. We as a people have become fed up with how strangely sociopathic our government has become. Time for a change!

Y'all blew it then and you can roll in it now.  Dewhurst was semi-acceptable, except now he's kissing up to the tea baggers somewhat fiercely since Cruz beat him last year.

I can retire from my educational career in 2 years.  Maybe I'll run against Cruz.  All I'd need is his picture in clown make up and the slogan "At least I'm not him".
