I'm glad they kept her character.  She's much more interesting and capable than Lori or Andrea.  I also like that they're giving Michonne personality.

For me it will always be Bus Riding Business Zombie from the pilot. Just because society has collapsed and the dead are feasting upon the living is no reason to stop being ready to make that big sale!

She really is the most average character.

she's not the local fuzz, or a crossbow wielding red neck jedi, or a simple farmer who spouts wisdom at just the right time, or a scowling katana wielding mute.

she's just a former housewife who was abused and later lost her child.

Every mid-season, the viewer is Bicycle Zombie.

So in this analogy, the show would be her abusive husband?

This watch costs more than you car. I ate 97 people last year. How many did you eat? You see pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Nice guy? I don't give a shiat. Good father? Fark you! Go home and eat your kids. You wanna shamble here? - EAT! You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you c*cksucker? You can't take this, how can you take the abuse when you're on the end of Daryl's crossbow? You don't like it, go fall through a roof!

The first half of season 3 is pretty good with only moderate amounts of stupidity. The second half goes off the rails into stupidity (for the most part). Probably the worst part of it all is that the entire season is dedicated to building up to "the big war" between the prison and the town. And when you get to the final episode....it's like the producers suddenly realized they were out of money came up with the cheapest, stupidest way to resolve it.

How is the final battle cheap or stupid? It's a battle between 10 people vs 30 roughly. Drawing them in and forcing them to fight on your terms is the best to fight them. Plus the people of Woodbury are weak and sheltered. They had no fight in them.

So we are battered housewives who are last seen sharpening knives?  I do not think that bodes well for the writters and showrunner.

because the comic portrayed the battle as pretty epic.  Gov and co. rode up to the the prison in a freaking tank to kill them all.  Rick and co. barely make it out alive and there were quite a few deaths.

. A tank fight would be incredibly stupid on the show. Do you know a driver, radio operator and a gunner? It takes a crew to man a tank. Even in the book they admitted they barely could drive it. Let alone run the cannon. They toned down the governor for the show. That was a good change.

WAAAAAAAHHHH! THE TV SHOW ISN'T EXACTLY LIKE THE COMIC BOOK!

part of the comic was making a point that the Gov had no real idea how to USE the tank.  It just looked impressive.

Savage Belief: WAAAAAAAHHHH! THE TV SHOW ISN'T EXACTLY LIKE THE COMIC BOOK!

when both the show and the comic have basically the same scene (prison battle with the Gov) and they fark up the show version....  well, dude I don't know what to tell you.  I don't mind differences.  We are completely off the page at this point.  But if you are going to do scenes straight out of the comic, do it right.  Fact is that Walking Dead is so popular because the first episode grabbed people - and it was the comic book brought to life.

Also how much money would it cost for the shows budget to get a modern tank?

I identify with Zack because I want to do all kinds of naughty things to the actress who plays Beth.

Carol is one of the few characters that is difficult to dislike. You can dislike her, but you'd feel like an asshole about it. It's like disliking the little old lady on the block who brings you cookies for no particular reason except that she just happened to have extra cookies and thought you would like some. What can you say about someone like that?

I think we're still on Three Dog. Unless you give Morgan Dog status, then we're on Four Dog.

Eh, Judith's alive and they're still in the prison.  That final battle hasn't happened yet.  We know from casting they're meeting Abraham & co this season, which has to happen on the road.

It's my belief the entire reason to bring the Woodbury folks in is to provide sufficient body count to horrify us. Alcoholic Bob, Sasha, the random kids, Tyrese's love interest, Beth, they're all going down, and not in a friendly way. Possibly Herschel as well, though the walkers will need to get past his ever-ready auto-reloading shotgun.

One could almost argue that the plague was a blessing for her. Her abusive husband is dead. She's a stronger woman now. She's found a kindred soul in Daryl. Life's going good for her.

I really wanted to like the show, but after the first 4 episodes of season one it just felt lost and boring. I got tired of the comic books at the eight or so trade book because while it started off strong and I liked it lots, it got locked into repetetive stuff while hammering you over the head with how mean and dumb and petty everyone was. The tv show seemed like it wasn't going to deviate from that formula.

The few people I know who watch it never seem to think it's very good but keep watching any way, and  I really like the idea of an undead drama on TV, but is it actually something that I just need to sit down and commit to to really enjoy, or is it just kind of something on TV that isn't a reality show?

Jericho managed, and their ratings were nowhere near TWD. There's such a huge surplus of M-1s now that you can probably borrow one pretty easily for a shoot (although AMC is notoriously cheap, even with hugely popular series).

it's something that you apparently don't like, but others do. if you didn't like it after the first four shows, and you don't like the comic do yourself, and everyone else a favor, and just let it go.

I love Carol because she's so average. She has no superpowers, no massively useful skills like marksmanship or medical training. She just has a will to survive.

I also love her because her hair looks just like mine right now, though hers is a bit longer. Yay for graying women and their bow-wielding boyfriends.
