Kaeishiwaza: Yet another reason why I love living in the capital of the world.  NYC is the Justin Timberlake of American cities.  Try as you might to find reasons to hate it, you realize that it's still better than the place you live.

With attitudes like yours, I can't understand why so many people think that NYers are pretentious douchebags.

New York City has a population larger than 39 of the states. It has an economy larger than all of Mexico, with its population of 120,000,000. You could even throw Austria in and it still wouldn't equal New York's.

All of this with 27,000 people per square mile. The fact that it managed to go even one day without a homicide is something to be really impressed with. New York is amazing.

Son of Thunder: RexTalionis: Statistically speaking, you are a hell of a lot safer in New York City than in, say, Nashville, Tennessee.

Statistically speaking, your brain doesn't work as well in New York than in Nashville (21% higher anxiety disorder rates, 39% higher depression, double the schizophrenia).  But hey, you're statistically less likely to get shot while you drag yourself through your neurotic miserable existence, so you've got that going for you.

Y'know a neurotic miserable existence beats living in Tennessee any day of the week. And I'm not from NYC.
