He sure does know how to gas his people.

You can't have peace without having war, just like you can't have jobs without job-creators.

You know who else thought he deserved a Peace Prize?

He's obviously trolling, but it really didn't make sense to give the prize to the OPCW - if you absolutely to give someone a prize over this (which itself seems dubious to me), you should give it to the people who set up the political situation under which disarmament can occur.

It's like the nuclear arms reduction agreements between between the US and Russia - if you think it's a big deal, you should be commemorating the people who made the accords possible, not the engineers who go in to dismantle the weapons after the fact.

When a surgeon sees several hundred thousand innocent people trying to change their government for the better and he operates on them with medical devices such as chemical weapons, anti-personnel bombs, mines, clubs, sniper rifles, etc., you don't call him a Nobel Peace Prize winner, do you?

No, you call him Bashar al-Assad. Or Hitler. Or Stalin. Or Pol Pot.  Follow your heart on that one.

Oh, come on. They have to draw the line somewhere.

The peace prize has gone to war criminals quite a few times. It's pretty pointless nowadays.

Should've given it to Mulala, so she could use the money to build some schools or something.

Is it just me or has the world gone mad and is being taken over by outrageous lying ass clowns?

I feel like I've wasted my life being honest.

Personally I'm holding out for the House GOP to get the Nobel in Economics for raising the debt ceiling

2013-10-15 01:18:26 PM
It was awarded to the wrong person/group. Malala should've gotten it.

Sure, just think of all the people he DIDN'T gas.

I guess anything is possible given the track record of the peace prize.

I have it on good authority that this year's Peace Prize was decided by the same people who picked the winner for Lead Drama Actor at the Emmys.

I appreciate your honesty.

and you're right, living a good honest life bears no rewards except for your own honor & dignity.
This world has been taken over by foul evil selfish murderous creatures.

Nobel prizes are for libtards.

Well, they did give one to Kissinger.. so there's that

Should've received the Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

In fairness, if you kill all dissenters, you'll inevitably end up with peace. So maybe he has a better chance next year.

First like of TFA:

Bashar al-Assad, the president of Syria, has joked that he deserved to win the Nobel Peace Prize after it was awarded to the international weapons watchdog currently destroying his regime's massive chemical arsenal.

Bad subby. Bad.

Came here to mention Kissinger, see that's already been covered.

//of course, the difference is that Kissinger eventually stopped bombing people.

By that logic, can they posthumously award Osama Bin Laden a Nobel Peace Prize for prompting Bush to do all that Mission: Accomplishing that he did?

In fairness he hasn't attacked anyone outside of his own country .

Unlike our own drone a week dropping  President and Nobel Peace prize winner.

Come to think of it are we not supplying weapons to a mixture of freedom fighters and Al-Queda fighters to wage guerrilla warfare in Syria ?

// oops that's racist !  Derp !

Maybe the Nobel committee can ask Barack to share his with Bashar as they have both done about the same to deserve it.

Christ, what an asshole.

And yes, it should have been Malala.

Something's happened here and I'm not sure I want to get closer to try and figure out what that something was.

I'm not so sure he is trolling. There's a strong undercurrent in certain schools of thought -schools of thought that run very strong in some of Assad's allies- that the definition of "good" is for society to live in "harmony" with one another, and thus, the role of government is to preserve harmony in society by any means necessary. Dissent is to be crushed as disharmonious, and so a government seeking to crush its opposition is literally incapable of doing wrong: whatever it does is goodness defined.

What did Assad do? He crushed a group of rebels, and convinced the world not to crush him. In his mind, that probably is a Nobel-worthy achievement.

So obviously, he's a man of peace.

Maybe he should get it, he has killed more Muslims than anyone else recently.  What better thing for the planet than fewer Muslims?

Obama won one. He has killed way more people than dude from Syria.

Then Obama makes jokes about drone bombing the Jonas brothers while simultaneously actually drone bombing innocent women and children on the other side of the planet. He is farkin hilarious.
