I've seen better high school drum lines.  What was impressive about this?

Maybe he movie ripped it off from the Army but I swear that second cadence that Army played was in Drumline.

Members of either group can also kill you at thousand yards?

Because I am unimpressed with high school level cadences?

And I am sure they can.  I bet a doctor can practice medicine better than me, too, but I am not gonna be impressed by his shiatty piano recital because of it.

I was a drummer in HS band all the way through and I love cadences. What I never did like because they sounded so hokey to me were quad/tri toms. They still sound out of place and ridiculous to me. Also the way snares now have such a crisp sound like drumming with a pencil on wax paper with no resonance and that spring vibration is lacking to me. All in all these were solid cadences to march to but nothing mind blowing.

I'll check back for the Top Secret Drum Corps or anything from the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. That is some epic drums and drumlines.

In drum and bugle corp, I was taught that the snare drum line was supposed to sound like 1 drum, not 5.  Their drum rolls sounded like crap.

This. Took state a few years back. Wasted in the regionals.. but still. And the AF cymbalist dancing around really didn't look too good.

To be fair, in order for the USAF to do that they need four manuals and 8 specialists.
