The Muthaship: Yeah, there are lots of ways to do it with a GT-R, but since he said it wouldn't handle as well as most super cars, I assumed he was talking about a Z car of some sort. They have a bit farther to go to get 600 at the wheel.

What? You don't think it's a Juke?

I love that thing.  I read an article in Top Gear magazine about them taking it to Dubai and beating a Ferrari and a Lambo.  They were offered $3M on the spot but wouldn't sell it.

The Muthaship: GT-Rs don't make that much at the wheel.  Or anywhere, factually.

/unless you modify them

I don't think he was saying his Nissan was making that HP, but that he could beat other cars with that amount of power.

GT-Rs do a good job punching above their weight.

But to answer you question, 750chp in a Z32 shouldn't be *that* hard.

I have a 2012 GT-R.  You ain't lyin'.

I still haven't gotten used to the acceleration, and I've had it almost 2 years now.

The Muthaship: CtrlAltDestroy: And horsepower wise my Nissan can surpass or match supercars at 595whp.

What all did you do to it to get to that ungodly number?

It's a Z32.

Cometic head gasket
ARP studs
Forged internals
Twin GT28RS @ 20 PSI
JWT Intercooler
JWT cams
740cc Injectors
Methanol injection
AVC-R
SAFC
Twin pop chargers
EGT, twin air/fuel, boost, fuel pressure gauges
Larger throttle bodies
CF drive shaft
Race clutch
Light weight pulleys and fly wheel
Short throw shifter
Race Logic traction control
Oversized radiator
Big brakes and light weight wheels
MT drag radials
Dual tuning setups for pump and race gas
Aftermarket suspension and strut bars
3" true dual turbo back exhaust
Ceramic coated turbos and headers
Larger hard intake/turbo piping
Upgraded twin side intercoolers

Probably forgetting stuff.

Took my mom for a ride in it and didn't tell her that it was modded like that. Scared the shiat out of her when I floored it through 3 gears.

Maybe it's just me, but those headlights, the cheap wire-mesh in the lower valance and plastic-looking vents above the lights make the front look like something someone would do with a Civic. The stainless steel plate over and around the exhaust looks like something they bought off the shelf at the local Pep Boys.

Sure the side shot you posted with the HDR magic looks cool, but the details of the car are shiat, and that is what is important when you are "customizing" a car of this caliber.

Joce678: Looks fixable to me.

Probably worth more than $100,000 as parts.

The wheels and seats alone are probably worth $15000.

Add in $7K for each of the doors, $30-$40K for the engine, you're already half way there.

All you have to do is wait for some other idiot to do something stupid to his...

did you not read the article about this the engine in this car was replaced at 50,000 miles the new engine alone was 100,000 dollars

bemused outsider: FXX owners most certainly do own their FXX's.

...they just can't take them home with them.

you can take them once the FXX program for that model is over there are numerous ones for sale they just become track day cars because you will never get them registered for street use.

I can see your reasoning.  What do you think about the Liberty Walk F40?

I used to work for Copart, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

At one point the most expensive car they had sold was a totaled Ferrari Enzo, I think it was serial number 3 (but I could be misremembering). It sold for around 200k. The engine was fine in the Enzo, so it was sold as a parts car to another Enzo owner.

There was an F40 on there too but I think that was only around 100k when it sold.

Thanks.

I would love to drive a GT-R. I doubt I'll make enough to afford one any time soon but they're on my wish list of driving experiences. I'm envious.

The closest I'll get to that any time soon is AWD swapping my 99 Eclipse Turbo Spyder (AWD Spyders never came from the factory) and hopping up the engine to ~350 awhp. Hopefully I'll start on that project next year.

fatalvenom: Ok...as a former long-time Ferrari mechanic who has worked on many of these cars, let me start by commenting on this gem:

"The post set off a debate among Ferrari owners, and word among them was that the driver had passed out behind the wheel due to a leaking exhaust dumping carbon monoxide into the cockpit, leading to a collision with a tree at 50 mph."

[l1.yimg.com image 610x413]

Uh, number one guys...the farking roof isn't on the car. And typically, after an accident, they don't remove the roof so the insides can be destroyed by weather...especially an F50. So how in the possible fark could an exhaust leak cause the driver to pass-out from carbon-monoxide?

Secondly, the exhaust is far aft of the motor, at 50mph, there is absolutely zero possibility of the exhaust penetrating the driver's compartment and causing oxygen-deprevation.

Finally, the owner/driver just straight-up farked-up driving this car.

Nice try covering-up for one of your fellow idiot Ferrari drivers. Too bad that most of us who have worked-on or sold these cars to their owners know, they typically have about as much driving skill as your typical Camry driver; except they have the cash to play,

loonatic112358: The_Original_Roxtar: i'm talking about 2-wheeled suzukis... the kind anyone can walk into a dealership and buy.

yes, and while they're nice, they're still Suzukis

You're not just paying for the performance, you're paying for the name

also, 2 wheels vs 4 wheels, very rarely can they be compared the same, the motorcycle doesn't have to take the same line as the car does.

Although cars inherently are better at cornering than bikes, it's so much more enjoyable when you are balancing centrifugal force rather than fighting it.
