Yeah, and? Is there a reason that a moran getting themselves in trouble by walking across a structure with "no trespassing" signs all over it should not be cited as such?

I also fail to see the problem. I'm happy she's ok, but actions do have consequences.

Darwin will get this person.
Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon.

/And there were certainly NO warning signals or lights on that bridge, right?

I am shocked, SHOCKED, that a person who ignores "No Trespassing" signs would wind up in legal trouble.

Sorry you got trapped on an opening railroad bridge and had to be rescued, but you're under arrest for trespassing.

Excluding the type of bridge makes for a misleading headline.  That was weapons-grade stupidity this woman displayed.

It's sort of an infinite loop with Florida.  Maybe a 'Feedback' tag?

Yeah, right?
Never mind the stupidity involved in walking on tracks to begin with, but a railroad drawbridge?
Damn.

Granted, a 50ish Wonder Woman; who's tired of her kids and her husband hasn't seen her shame cave in 5 years; on account of the don kingesk bush.

We should ban black assault bridges and black assault trains. You know that they are assault bridges, because their decks move. They have no purpose, but to end lives.

So the railway company offered to lower the bridge (which seems a reasonable solution) but the FD insisted on using ladders.

One has to wonder why.

No kidding, there is a bridge in my area that takes 20 freaking minutes to open, being a boat owner as well I can say pretty much most bridges are slow themselves - I am partially deaf and I hear the sirens going off for 2 minutes before the bridge even moves, even at a distance. You can't tell me her fat tub of lard couldn't get to one side or the other in 2 minutes, given her position in photos, she clearly decided to ride it out for shock value or as a stunt.

Its a shame fat tub didn't get a darwin award.

Lowering the bridge is not a smooth operation, and the shaking might knock her off?

FTA: The span, which works by remote control, is lowered only for the passage of trains. Minutes after FEC officials were notified that the woman was clinging to the bridge, Ledoux said, they offered to lower the span. But firefighters chose to rescue her by ladder teach her a lesson, he said.

FTFT.

Also FTA: Ledoux said walk organizers had not notified the FEC that the route would cross the tracks at two points. "We would have had own security," he said.

So long as babby is not formed, I guess I'm ok with that.

/And it wasn't accidentally.

While possible that seems less likely than the FD simply thinking along the lines of;
"If angle changes, she might lose her grip or otherwise not be able to adjust to the change in attitude".

I say that simply because you do not make large machines like that moving bridge, and let it jerk around when in motion.  Inertia is very good at breaking things.

Sorry lady, not only is the bridge well marked, but railroad companies do NOT fark around. Even crossing regular tracks on foot on the way home can get you a serious fine.

You know why? Trains can't stop, and they can't change lanes to avoid hitting people, but people like to blame whoever hits them, so railroad companies don't take chances.
