Sorry, but you're not taking a #2 in that condo, there's no bathroom.

2004-01-18 04:24:25 PM
$42 million dollars for 12,000 sq. feet. That's one big arse condo. It was sold "raw", when this thing is built out it's gotta have at least 10 - 12 bedrooms and probably as many bathrooms. I wonder what the costs will be for finishing the thing?

2004-01-18 06:36:52 PM
It better come with a free hooker, that's all I have to say.

Maybe no bathrooms, but hey, if the windows open then who needs a toilet?

2004-01-18 08:18:36 PM
Asinine?

Thats what these things are worth.

Wake up.

2004-01-18 08:18:38 PM
Thats ridiculous. I get a six pack of condos at the drug store for $7.98.

2004-01-18 08:20:05 PM
yeah, how is this asinine?

2004-01-18 08:20:40 PM
it's not the $42 mill that gets me, it's that you have to pay that much AND share a laundry room with Ricky Martin

2004-01-18 08:22:40 PM
I have the key somewhere in my couch cushions. I just don't feel like looking for it.

2004-01-18 08:24:02 PM
I wonder if he's single . . .

2004-01-18 08:25:14 PM
42 mill, plus 30,000 a month

"Maybe no bathrooms, but hey, if the windows open then who needs a toilet?"

True.

HEY! YOU DOWN THERE. CATCH! OH, And WELCOME TO NEW YORK!

2004-01-18 08:25:35 PM
They said finishing costs would be 4 Million.

2004-01-18 08:25:52 PM
All things considered, I wouldn't pay a plug nickel for an apartment in a tall building in New York. Not for the foreseeable future anyways.

2004-01-18 08:26:16 PM
Of course it's $42 million. Emperor Palpatine would kill for that view.

Of course, he'd also kill just for the hell of it, but that's another issue.

2004-01-18 08:29:02 PM
Feh, I'd rather buy 42 one million dollar condos. Guess I could turn them into a fort or a maze or something.

2004-01-18 08:29:56 PM
Even at that price, it only represents 2.5% of the development cost of the project.

They still have $500M of apartments to sell.

Better get busy, folks, or GMAC's going to own your building.

2004-01-18 08:30:02 PM
Isn't $42 million dollars rather redundant?

2004-01-18 08:30:48 PM
30 year mortgage at 6 percent on 42 million is $251,811.22 a MONTH!!!!!!

2004-01-18 08:32:12 PM
impressive

2004-01-18 08:32:42 PM
This better have a hot chicks room, stocked daily. And would they be called "furniture," a la Soylent Green?

2004-01-18 08:33:30 PM
cyphers: funny
pavi: also funny

2004-01-18 08:34:27 PM
If I had a talking hamster, I'd buy him this condo, and I'd take the little guy up to show him the view, and he'd be speechless, emitting only wordless gasps of joy. That would be worth $42 million.

2004-01-18 08:35:45 PM
1GREATGUY - how's this: $1.75B construction loan (interest only) at 6% = $8,750,000 a MONTH. How'd you like to own that debt service?

2004-01-18 08:36:13 PM
I bet he can get laid 24/7 in a place like that.
Too bad it takes him a 42M place to get some

2004-01-18 08:36:20 PM
Are the ceilings high enough to build a full-size basketball court? Because that would be totally sweet. However, whosoever ends up buying this place should be gang raped by New York's working poor. Instant karma's gonna get you!

2004-01-18 08:37:54 PM
And_That_Is_Why: No thanks. All of this is just a tad out of my budget.

2004-01-18 08:39:08 PM
Who's asinine here, the people that got $42 mil for an apartment, or the guy who paid $42 mil for a 12000 ft^2 apartment in New York with a great view of Central Park and Manhatten?

If I were independently wealthy I'd love to have this place.

I'm wondering, do people who buy condos like this actually take out mortgages, do they arrange a mortgage-type situation with the seller, or do they usually just come in with a briefcase full of cash?

2004-01-18 08:41:36 PM
LAF! I've misspelled Manhattan. I've revealed my identity as a Midwesterner.

2004-01-18 08:44:27 PM
I wonder if it has anti-aircraft emplacements on the roof?

I think they just deal with Satan directly. "Sign here, please."

Cheapest condo: $2.36 million, 1,287-square-foot two-bedroom; $2,800 monthly fee.

and its 2 bedrooms.

NY must be one crazy expensive place.

2004-01-18 08:47:22 PM
Not that this isn't wretched excess, but owning a whole floor with a 360 view of manhattan? That's priceless, and I bet this guy makes out like a bandit when he sells it.

2004-01-18 08:50:44 PM
Sick.

But really cool nonetheless.

I want one.

ok for queer eye city folk i guess.

i could buy a mountain for that cheddar.

2004-01-18 08:52:59 PM
Hmm... it needs something. AAA.

2004-01-18 08:58:14 PM
You'd have to pay me that much to live in Manhattan. And I'd still leave after a year. Morons.

haha. good catch. i didn't even notice it.

2004-01-18 08:59:22 PM
$42 million?!?!?! I'll stick with my $500 a month studio in downtown Sacramento thanks...jesus....It better come with gold plated everything for that price.

2004-01-18 09:00:40 PM
Screw a Manhattan apartment. If I got that much kablingy to spend, I'm gettin' me one of these bad boys!

I'm thinking the guy that pays 2.5 mil for the view of Jersey would be the asinine one.

2004-01-18 09:06:35 PM
I wouldn't feel very safe in such a tall building in New York. In fact, a 42 million dollar condo is the kinda place that Osama Mama would love to attack the most, I bet.

"The buyer has been identified as financier David Martinez, 46, CEO and director of Fintech Advisory Ltd., a London-based firm that deals in the debt of underdeveloped nations and troubled companies."

There we go again. Your U.N. Dollars at work, B.I.R.D. financed,Bla, Bla, Bla.
Take a look at your pay check and reflect for a Long while.
even better, Think about it tomorrow morning at 7AM.
0.001% of that money would be better spent on Henri Earl.

Wouldn't it make more sense to have a secluded mansion with a landing strip, and your own private jet to shuttle you back and forth for that kind of money?

/Hates neighbors

2004-01-18 09:18:23 PM
I hate farking condos.

If you have THAT much money, you might as well go buy that refurbished Titan silo site in upstate New York. Private landing strip and the ULTIMATE in secure property.

Just don't forget your keys. The front door is a 10 foot thick slab of steel.

2004-01-18 09:26:52 PM
damn that number to hell!

2004-01-18 09:28:02 PM

Soo, you're telling me that can't be done with $43 million?
