And yes, the drawing was originally scheduled for today. Since we didn't get tackers for all of the prizes from the FB-only crowd, we're posting it here, and postponing the drawing until this Friday.

My apologies for any inconvenience; I hope you'll agree that it is for a good cause.

That reads like the old choose your prize portion on Wheel of Fortune back in the day. It needs a ceramic dog or a years supply of Sanka to complete the effect.

/also it sounds like a good cause

I'm always happy to help a fellow farker out, but I don't recognize lima beans by name.  Somebody share a good lima beans post or story so I can see how much TFaid she's worthy of.

Eh, I just went ahead and donated.  If I win the raffle, give the prize to lima beans or the people working at your local animal shelter (or the dogs themselves if it's a dog-friendly prize)

Aw, thanks. She really is good people.

She totally made fun of me when I joined here, but not in a mean way, and they were a happy couple. Tragic enough that she lost him without her having to struggle to pay costs.

Hello everyone.
I would like to take a moment to thank every one of you for your generous donations and first-rate emotional support.
Manuel was an awesome husband, dad, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. He learned from his mistakes, made friends with most everyone he met, and showed me how to be somewhat kind to people in the real world.

14 years ago I met this man who would give me the very best times, love and friendship. For a third of my life he has been my "forever", having that torn away is impossible to explain. Words do me no justice when I discuss him.

Manuel taught me to love and to be loved. There is not one moment in the day that I don't find myself thinking of the relationship, his humor, and cursing all that took him away. Life is much shorter than we think, remember to not take things for granted. Tell your people you love them and mean it.

Again, thank you.

I still owe her a favor....

(a story) (get some cocoa)

Awhile back, Abercrombie and Fitch said they only wanted pretty people to buy their clothes. It went back and forth on facebook  - as all crap like that does - but I made a comment that I should find a boys large A&F shirt and pose in it (I am ... well...I am fat). A couple weeks later, I got a shirt in the mail. Then, this all started and I postponed.

If you donate, I'll take the picture.

(OK, I'll probably do it anyways, but donate.)

If we reach our goal, we'll post the picture on Fark. That alone should be worth it.

Arghie is back?! Wait, when did this happen? I have missed seeing you around this joint. Who is next to return? LarsThrowald?

Lima beans - I don't know you, although I have seen some of your posts from time to time. I am sorry for your loss. I am one of those in the "I have too much shiat already crowd" so I'll donate but I don't want anything in return.

That would be awesome. I've been back for awhile - I check in almost every day once or twice but I am quiet and scared and shy.

Years back somebody submitted a TFD that included the phrase "he is the lima beans of sex" in the headline. Hilarity ensued. The admins changed the headline. That's how I'll always remember her.

To be clear, BTW, I am organising the raffle, and not taking part in it, in order to avoid any conflict of interest.

As a Texan, currently, I wanted to donate my Red Rider BB Gun but there was concern over shipping such a horrid weapon.

:(

Land of the Free, indeed. A BB gun.

/not my fault if you shoot your eye out

I will donate, but if I win the cookies, can I get a dozen oysters instead?

I'm sorry, man. Blame it on my ignorance and hesitation to get tangled in any way with Federal laws or Dutch laws. My concern was more with BATFE regs, and being unclear about what laws govern the raffle of a BB gun (I know, I know). Also, I'm running this raffle from The Netherlands, where I live. While I know gun laws are MUCH tighter here, I don't know if/how they govern my actions (even though this is an online fund raiser for an American, etc.) since I'm sitting in this country and not that one.

Though, if you wanted to - you COULD auction it off to a highest bidder, and donate the proceeds. :)

2013-10-14 06:40:26 PM
Let's just do that.

A Red Rider. Single shot. No compass in the stock.

For an extra $25 I promise not to tea bag it before shipping it to you.

I'll do it.

2013-10-14 06:42:17 PM
Sadly, all my stories involving her are far too personal to share.

Of my friend I can say this, when I needed a friend she was there.

What better thing can one say of another human?

Donated. At least this site had a comment field where I could leave my Fark handle; since my real name is CARRIER LOST

Save $25 and a firearm "tainted" by mr_bunny? Win/win.

You can buy one anywhere for $50, but that won't help someone in need.

Start at $50 plus the tea bag tax?

Sorry for not replying to everyone - I AM keeping track of donations and prize wishes from this thread as well as via email (for donators as well as folks who are giving their tickets to lima beans).

HUGE thank-you to everyone who is donating. Y'all are pretty swell. :)

2013-10-14 07:11:02 PM
It will ship with a black and white photo of a butt.

Imagine that butt belongs to someone you really want to shoot in said rear.

And a mostly full thingy of bb's.

/photo may or not be my actual butt
