haolegirl: bborchar: Ensayia: It's 1 momma rat and 10 teeny baby rats, not 11 full size rats.

They probably would have heard the noise from 11 rats crammed under a seat.

//rats are awesome

Agreed.

//just adopted a second rat because one of our other ratties had died suddenly

Heads up tho, if it was mama-san and babies, she WILL bite. Only time I ever got bit was by a pregnant rat!

Nope, they are both boys.  Our original boy was rescued as a baby, so he is very friendly and loving.  We adopted him and his brother together, and had them about 4 months before his brother suddenly died one day (we don't know what happened).  So we contacted the rescue to see if we could find him a friend or friends (because he was very sad...all he did was sleep all day).  They just happened to have a rescued boy they got from a pet store mill, and he's very timid (he hasn't bit us, but he doesn't like to be picked up), but he and our boy met and they immediately started grooming each other.  We didn't even have to keep them in separate cages at all, they just got on so well.  So we are working with the new one to try to tame him a bit...but even if we don't, at least he will have a loving home for the rest of his life.

Very sorry to hear about your loss.  I've been ratless since January (the before my birthday...), but a few weeks ago, one of my coworkers found a little white mouse on the ground and figured I'd know what to do with her.  So now I have a mouse...

Glad to hear your intros went well.  I've had some go pretty badly.  Hope this new guy comes around.  They usually do.
