dantheman195: Would explain why Michael Bloomberg dumped a million bucks in to Cory's campaign, because he is a fellow New Yorker

Yes, it must be that. It couldn't possibly be because Bloomberg supports his platform.

Think carefully about saying shiat. Otherwise we can point out that Lonegan has received money from Americans for Prosperity, which is based in Virginia. So by your logic, he's a Virginian.

But there's no evidence that Booker lived there. The Longworth property is. Indeed, no real estate is, unless it is hidden inside "Cory Booker Management Trust," which shows zero income.

Well... isnt that special. Politicians don't even bother working for corporations anymore. They just become them!

dbirchall: Oh, and I went to school in Newark, at NJIT ("It's like MIT, but surrounded by slums") and had a Newark mailing address and all that... but I wouldn't call that "living."

Highlanders represent!

Mrbogey: the_vegetarian_cannibal: Mrbogey: Eh... So he lied and he's trying hard to establish residency. He's a NJ Dem. Ethics are a detriment.

Says the guy from Louisiana.

Hey, Louisiana Dems are the same. You don't see me defend them.

True, Louisiana Republicans are nothing but pure and full of nothing but truth and virtue.

At least when they aren't hanging out with prostitutes.

The fact that you think someone from Newark is a New Yorker shows what a moron you really are.

/Better to remain silent, etc

Wait, wait, wait.... Please tell me, if anything, he's from northern Louisiana? Please?

... the whole point of the article is that Booker likely lives in NYC, and has never even taken residence in Newark. Gotta think that was what dantheman was talking about.

Don't talk to him like he's people. It disgraces us all.

I'm just making sure the new ones know who he is. It's not much effort to counter his crap, since if it's not a Booker thread, he's not there.

Dwight_Yeast: Of course, this is seen as a real issue to Republicans.  But in 2012, the fact that Mitt Romney ran for president from Massachusetts even though he hadn't actually lived their for years (he'd been splitting his time between SLC and California), bought his house shortly before he filed, and at one point claimed to be living in his son's basement didn't phase them in the least.

You're right. That's outrageous. He should have been living in America at the time to establish residency for the office of president and not foreign places like SLC and California.

In NJ politics, you could stand in a room with a rock in your hand with politicians from both sides in there and just close your eyes and randomly throw it.  It would be almost guaranteed that you'd hit a scum bag.

You might even hit the piece of shiat that was throwing rocks with his eyes closed!

Yes, that's the point of the article. The article is also a lie.

You're going to get the government you voted for ..again.

Prediction in the next six years the only thing that will change in Newark, is Cory Booker will be set for life.

What about Dick Cheney's sudden move to Wyoming?

Cory Booker was set for life from the very moment he was born, so I don't know how you see that as a change. In fact, if the only thing that happens in Newark in the next six years is Cory Booker earning his political career, then he will have left Newark a better place despite not having to bother.

I was in Newark last year. It wasn't the first time I wound up in Newark, but it was the first time I stopped my car there. Things are going right.
