Christ, Lonegan is an idiot. On Wednesday, it's not so much that I'll be voting for Booker as much as I'll be voting against Lonegan.

We had two major political spots, senator and governor, open this year with heavy favorites (pardon the pun). The Democrats put up a run-of-the-mill party politician who paid her dues and was a known sacrificial lamb. The Republicans nominated this dope.

Oh it's even better. Cruz was here a few days ago. Maybe a week ago. Something like that.

Because if there are two people who NJ absolutely loves, it's Cruz and Palin. If I remember right, Christie was at the same event as Cruz and basically ran the fark outta there as fast as he could to not have to interact with Cruz.

Yea, I realized that after I posted. Meh.

Speaking of Christie, his new campaign ad amuses me, because of how much it would piss off the Tea Partiers.

His entire platform in the ad is basically "Hey, I'm bipartisan, some Democrats like me, and I don't think compromise is a dirty word. What's important is how awesome NJ is."

This is like a Conservative think-tank got together and decided that this race is the same as having a chance to go back in time and defeat Obama before he got on the main stage.

Awful article.  What a stupid and worthless waste of space thing to say.

Yea yea... he lived in this house according to all the forms he filed and it just so happens the moment people check into it he lives in another house he's been renting that he never previously claimed. And he has rent checks which prove it. Sure. Sounds legit.

Pretty much my thoughts as well.

Lonegan solidified my vote for Booker when he came out with a radio ad that sounded like it was written by Glenn Beck.  It was basically trying to "blame" Obamacare on Booker with menacing music playing and hit on all the Tea Party talking points.

2013-10-14 05:48:08 PM
My favorite part about this "scandal" is how all the conservatives from the suburbs who have probably never dared to even set foot into Newark are suddenly turning into "experts" on who does and doesn't live there.

Ah, yes, the Wednesday special election two weeks removed from the general election. For no other reason than budgeyt conscious Chris Christie doesn't want a high D turnout. I guess it's fine to waste millions of taxpayer dollars when it suits him.

The mouth breathers are of course thrilled about Lonegan, but the real point of his campaign is to "dirty up" Booker just in case he gets all uppity and wants to run for President later.  That's why the RNC is perfectly ok with this line of attack.

Of course you won't. They're Dems, and that means they're automatically guilty and not worthy of anything. When a Repub does it, of course it's just a temporary indiscretion. We know, we know. Party before country.

Attitudes like yours are what will be the death of this country.

Of course, this is seen as a real issue to Republicans.  But in 2012, the fact that Mitt Romney ran for president from Massachusetts even though he hadn't actually lived their for years (he'd been splitting his time between SLC and California), bought his house shortly before he filed, and at one point claimed to be living in his son's basement didn't phase them in the least.

As long as the president and the vice president are not from the same state, does it really matter?

However someone who claims they live in New Jersey but actually lives in NYC, that might be a problem since the person is running for senate in NJ

Uh... I grew up not far from New Egypt, and had friends from there.  It's a half-mile from a major air base (Joint Base, now) and was a gun-totin' redneck homeland back then, as I recall, so unless it's changed drastically, Palin would fit right in.  Especially at a dirt (well, clay) race track.

2013-10-14 07:26:14 PM
Oh, and I went to school in Newark, at NJIT ("It's like MIT, but surrounded by slums") and had a Newark mailing address and all that... but I wouldn't call that "living."

FTA:
Newark Mayor Cory Booker still holds a double-digit lead over his Republican challenger in the New Jersey Senate race, a new poll shows, but his lead continues to shrink with the election two days away.

double digit lead with two days to election day? yeah, i'm sure lonegan can make that up...
