I guess it kerbed her enthusiasm about the improvements

Holy shiat.

Yeah - it took me a bit to see it, and I knew it was there.  I imagine that with my bifocals and resulting problems judging curb heights, I'd be ass-over-teakettle too.

Pontypool - you beat me to it.  I caught that moving on SyFy while I was travelling overseas and was pleasantly surprised.

Meh, those injuries look entirely consistent with her trying to pronounce Welsh accurately. I've seen it before.

Those injuries are consistent with getting run over by a raindeer.

At first i looked at that and thought people were tripping because there was not a step (and they thought there would be), but after reading the article i realized it was because there is a step.  Crazy.

Paint the curb red ... or wait for enough people to trip and fall spill blood on the curb. End result is the same.

First thing that came to mind, too.  That entire town: absolute imbeciles except for one intrepid firefighter.

Very nearly spit-take worthy.  Nicely done.

Funny when they build things to make it easier for the blind or partly blind to get about, but causes the not blind to trip and fall.

My father looked the same way. He got hit by a wave and landed on top of his head, causing a bled betwwen the skull and skin. The next day, his hair line was black and blue. The next day, his forehead. By the time the blood slid down to his eyes, being old and all, the saggy skin at the bottom of his eyes puffed out and most of the top of his face was black.

He felt fine, but looked awful. He scared kids as they walked by.

By the time it moved to below his neck, the body absorbed it and went away.

When I got whacked in the forehead, the next day when I woke up my whole face was swollen.  Eyes swollen shut.  Had to massage them to get them to open.  Had the wickedest looking black eyes you ever saw.  That, combined with the stitches in my forehead, made quite a sight.

It's West India Quay in Canary Wharf, London and that's the first time I've seen that picture, which is a pity as I work not five minutes from there.
