If by "greed" you mean "8 years of a retarded cowboy and his insane, evil administration driving the ship of state," then yes... greed destroyed our economy.

Pharque-it: Nanny Statesman: Subby was wrong. That article was not written by Bush, nor does it quote Bush. It's an excerpt from a book by someone else blaming Bush.

What difference does that make?
I still wish him a painful death.

Hey, I blame him too (although not entirely, there's plenty of blame to go around). It's just that most of this thread has been people reacting to the idea that Bush said it was all greed's fault. He did nothing of the sort.

I realize the presidency is harsh on people, but he looks HORRIBLE now.  Worse than he did when he left office...I guess sitting in isolation on your ranch in Texas painting is a rough life...

Now, as ever, ours is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

And a dependable, unwavering 26% of our people are so stupid and intellectually lazy that they tl;dr anything longer than a bumper sticker, and those people will reliably vote for whoever will simplify this nation's troubles for them, stand up, look them in the eye, and tell them with all the sincerity that they can muster... that in each and every problem we face as a country..."it's them ni**ers."

Wall Street Crash? It's them ni**ers.
Debt and deficit? It's them ni**ers.
Failing schools? It's them ni**ers.
Crime rate? It's them ni**ers.
Unemployment Rate?  It's them lazy ni**ers
Terrorism? It's them sand-ni**ers.

They've always got to have a group to look down on. And, they've always got to have a group to blame their troubles on. Admittedly it's not always black people... but they may as well always be "ni**ers." Whether it's gays, liberals, atheists, Mexicans, or muslims... there's always some vile, lowdown, foul-filthy "other" that is both completely beneath them and craftily ruining their lives and destroying the world as they know it.

And as long as those people are looking "over there" at the ni**ers the talking heads are pointing at, the people those talking heads serve are going to pick this country clean in as many different ways as they can concoct.

There is always greed and the economy is always cyclical.
Its just a matter of who can balance the spinning plates better.

in other news, GWB2 has changed his name to 'greed'...

"Greed" is, and has always been, an assumed condition of the system. It is a known factor that you navigate around, work with, manage, and/or keep in check while the economy moves forward.

When the system crashes, you don't blame the known factors that the system was supposedly designed to work with.

You don't blame a mutherfarking plane crash on gravity, you dolt.

This is exactly right, but at the moment any move to contain the greed for the greater good gets yelled down as THE SOZIASALISM!!

The US is a mixed economy and at its best when managed as a mixed economy.  We need to get past this false dilemma bullshiat.

Bin Laden: goal is to bankrupt US

Yup. Have been saying it since tower 2 went down.

Worked against the Ruskies.

George Bush, and the $4.5 trillion in 8 years in debt he added to our country, destroyed our economy. Obama, and the 7 trillion he's added in 5 years, is saving our economy,

red5ish: Schrodinger's Basement Cat: Neeek: 2wolves: Kibbler: sounding like a character from Deliverance

And that was a sham.  If you hear him speak at the GOP convention where his Daddy was running for a second term he sounds like the Ivy League legacy that he is.

Maybe. I have a different theory. I think W has had a degenerative cognitive disorder that has been slowly destroying his linguistic faculties.

Doesn't "drug addled" about cover that?

Quit slagging on that poor hollow withered shell of a man; he can't help it if he's an empty shriveled sack. All that decidering was too much to ask of a country club buffoon. His intellectuals got all wandered and it's a horrible waste.

I will hereafter tag trolls in the Politics Tab as "His intellectuals got all wandered"

Kibbler: You mean the drydrunk silverspoon AWOL cokehead permanent-vacation who failed at every single thing he ever did, and had to be bailed out of one slimey business deal after another, who smeared his opponent, a decorated combat veteran, as a deserter, even though he partied in a VIP no-combat National Guard unit, who started a monstrous bloody war on lies, made jokes about those lies, strutted like a kid in a Halloween costume across an aircraft carrier, groped a foreign head of state like a frat boy, proved himself incapable of putting together even the simplest of sentences without sounding like a character from Deliverance, and can't even eat a farking pretzel without almost killing himself, he's so irredeemably stupid and incompetent at even the simplest of activities?

That George W. Bush?

Yes, but it's all the fault of Bill "Slicked Willy" Clinton and Barry "NiBONG" Soetoro, right boys?

markfara: LIBERAL greed, he meant to say.

Does that help you feel secure in your entrenched beliefs that he is an idiot?

/ its not football, your "team" is not always the one you need to root for.
// and BAH!  Greed, for lack of a better term, is good.

/ftfy
/means the same thing, but it's easier to do that than still use the word and preface it with, "Now I'm not a racist, but..."
