Honestly, nothing of any importance.   It's like Fark, but but without the humor or foobies.

Seriously, "TL;DR" doesn't even scratch the surface of how thoroughly uninteresting and self-indulgent that article was.

I don't get uppity, but I don't care what San Franciscoans are doing. Of course they try anything, it costs $3000 an apartment out there in some places. Dollars rule.

I also remember reading an article that a lot of our social media and apps are created because it's San Francisco techies creating things to solve the problems that 20 somethings with disposable cash have problems with. No one is thinking about the kind of an app a 65 year old retired school teacher might need.

A) What does a 65 year old retired schoolteacher need?
B) How many 65 year olds are actually using smartphones?

More than you might think.  They need a way to update their Facebook status on the go, after all.

Jesus. That article goes on for f*cking ever.

8,300 words???

F*ck!

summary of article:
this is the lifestyle you can lead if you are a serial entrepreneur who sold a Facebook app for seven figures.

and if you did not sell a Facebook app for seven figures, keep trying.
and if you fail too many times, Google apparently keeps a spot open for you for backup.

Jesus, I read that crap until he started on about how the guy was switching lives with the guy from Third Eye Blind. Obviously this is just an average everyday San Franciscan. Just go to Stanford, sell your crappy facebook app (which is now probably completely forgotten) for 7 figures, then start your own dubstep band, or something, and just live the dream, man.

That article made me want to go home,  go outside and cut down a tree with my chainsaw so I can split some firewood for the winter.

For some odd reason, that is how much physical, back breaking labor I feel like I need to do to offset reading this article.

anyway, when did writers stop using the first paragraph as the means to tell the reader what the hell is going on.

I don't understand the HEADLINE much less the article; of which I read about 500 words before starting to think I may, possibly, be brain-dead. Only by realizing that the truly brain-dead could not conceptualize their own brain death was I was to break free and report back.

Mr. Founder, we must not allow a skeumorphism gap! Take all these rounded corners and gradient fills, and replace them with flat beryl squares.
