That's pretty awesome. It looks like a trailer for Cinderella. Brilliant selections of video.

Seeing that trailer, and a couple of other similar ones at io9, and I know this is stupid of me to say, well I am a bit disappointed in Julianne Moore for participating in Carrie.

The first was so iconic and so well done, I would have hoped an actor of Moore's calibre would have let that part go passed.

And that's my impression because the voice and acting of the actor playing Carrie is so bland and mediocre in comparison to Sissy Spacek.

And the casting of Chloe Moretz seems so cheap and easy since she is terribly pretty, which was not the case for Sissy Spacek whose looks, were not conventionally pretty. (And don't get me wrong Sissy Spacek has tremendous looks, but was not the conventional beauty of Chole Moretz.)

Gah, Hollywood, make some new movies you brain dead assholes.

Heh. Appears I am not the only person that thinks casting Moretz was wrong.

Here is a YT clone with a similar opinion but also noting it's apparently a very common opinion.

Screw you cynical, old bastards here at Fark.

I'm going to see Carrie, and give it a chance. The 1976 version hasn't aged well. A remake is justified.

You sound young.

I just watched the original (for the 9000th time) last night, and it's still just as creepy as it was in '76.

Yeah, I don't know if I'm down with the remake, but that was a very well put together little mashup.

I'm 34. I guess I'm kind of youngish.

Anyway, I own the 1976 Carrie, and agree that it's a good movie. But, come on, man. It has montages set to disco. It could be updated.

Girl, you crazy.  It's a movie that doesn't need to be touched, especially with the casting of all of the conventionally pretty people.

/granted, I was adamant about them not farking with "Footloose" and it wasn't a half bad remake
//I'll probably still end up seeing this remake

Didn't they already do that ten years ago?
