Mmmm. Delicious Bostonian tears.

2013-10-13 10:03:10 PM
Hm.. it's way early, and Tigers fans will probably kill me for even bringing this up, but has any team ever swept two consecutive ALCSs?

Those beards are definitely ugly, but when you're playing like this they also are, well, embarrassing.

Kevin72: wxboy: This game is almost a carbon copy of last night.

Except for Miguel Cabrera's homerun.

Although you are correct about Boston being no-hitted again.

According to Wikipedia, the Orioles swept the first three (1969-1971, each was a best-of-5)

All right Martinez!  Tigers are teeing off against Buchholtz

The Tigers seem to have broken the mimeograph machine.

OMG 1971 Orioles. 4 count them four 20-game winners.

Took this long in the playoffs for the heart of our lineup to remember how to hit.  Happy they're finally doing it :D

5-0

2013-10-13 10:12:10 PM
I'm just happy that Buchholtz is getting the beating he deserves.

2013-10-13 10:12:12 PM
Way to get yourself ejected from the game, fan. How much did you pay for that ticket?

/On the other hand, maybe it's a mercy ejection.

2013-10-13 10:12:12 PM
And the hits just keep on coming.

2013-10-13 10:12:23 PM
It just keeps going, eh Bosox?

2013-10-13 10:12:30 PM
And after 4 runs and Infante's single, the Sox go to the pen

2013-10-13 10:12:35 PM
oh hey, Farrell.. nice of you to join us

2013-10-13 10:12:58 PM
Gotta pull Bucholz soon

Polish Hussar: And after 4 runs and Infante's single, the Sox go to the pen

At least they learned their lesson.  Eventually.

2013-10-13 10:14:05 PM
I'm loving this so much more because Sox fans were so certain they were going to waste the Tigers and pretty much every one of the National sports writers did too.

2013-10-13 10:14:21 PM

Klippoklondike: Gotta pull Bucholz soon

..and by "soon", you mean about 4 batters ago

2013-10-13 10:15:49 PM
I walked in the door after a 10 hour drive just in time to see Hunter's beautiful catch, and the loveliness that ruined Buchholz's whole weekend. I'd call my timing pretty good this weekend.

Klippoklondike: Gotta pull Bucholz soon

Nahhh. I say let him fight his way through it.

2013-10-13 10:15:58 PM
Scherzer's got 76 pitches so he could go 2, maybe 3 more innings.

2013-10-13 10:16:13 PM
Now the question is what Scherzer is going to do, now that some of the pressure is off.

What did he do?  I missed it somehow...

He threw the home run ball back onto the field.

I kinda wish they hadn't.  Actually, now that I think about it, there's no "kinda" about it.
/Go Tigers

Snatched the home run ball out of the hands of another fan, then threw it back onto the field.

This is GGGGRREEAAAT!!!

idesofmarch: Now the question is what Scherzer is going to do, now that some of the pressure is off.

Scherzer should pitch at least 7 full innings, unless he starts giving up baserunners

I mean, I understand the motive behind it....but still.  Wow.

I want to hear Skip Bayless talk about how the Tigers pitching isn't really that good

Leyland: "Could you maybe back off a bit with that camera?"
