Why their parents aren't charged with child abuse is beyond me.  Forcing them to grow up with those sorts of dietary patterns is worse then smoking around them, isn't that illegal yet too?

Unpossible. I've been assured by many unrepentant fatties that size has absolutely nothing to do with health.

Overweight kids are allowed to consume sugary beverages without restraint.  They are used as rewards.  They are a staple of WIC.

FIX THIS!

High blood pressure doesn't sound like the threat that it actually is.  I don't know why I have high blood pressure myself, but once I dropped it, I began to realize the dangerous symptoms that I was brushing off as something irrelevant or unimportant.

I was shocked, shocked! I tell you, to see what happened to my blood pressure once I had been without a cigarette for just four days without any other significant change.  I sure do like smoking, but, I sure do like being in good health.

I am not qualified to say this, but, I can't help but think that physical inactivity, sluggishness, and a poor attitude towards exercise are major contributing factors to childhood obesity and in turn, high blood pressure.

I don't remember seeing WIC checks for Pepsi. Mostly they are for cereal, eggs, milk... and the checks are very specific, like ONE (1) 16OZ BOX OF CEREAL, TWO (2) GALLON(S) OF WHOLE OR REDUCED FAT MILK. It's a grocery list. Milk is a staple of WIC, not grape juice.

Just like all the smokers who don't think it's killing them.

Send the little shiats outside to play. That's how kids excercise. You just have to quit hovering over them and showering them with junk food.

Smoking is the cause of death in 1/5 cases. Being overweight is the cause in 1/2. Being fat is provably more dangerous than smoking, but if you smoke while fat you get the "benefits" of both.

Yeah, but the point of WIC is to keep kids from undernourishment. Unless your social worker is Willy Wonka the main goal is to make sure kids are getting enough protein, some fats, and micro-nutrients. Fruit juice may be on there because it's typically fortified with vit. C, but most of the WIC items are protein and fat rich. WIC is by no means a gravy juice train.

This is what WIC looks like to most people:

The inclusion of fruit juice is an implicit endorsement by the government that this is an acceptable choice for regular consumption.   http://tv.msnbc.com/2013/01/08/an-excerpt-from-dr-robert-lustigs-fat- c hance/

I wonder if it would be cheaper to just let them finish themselves off instead of fixing them.
