I think you meant to say she's realized she can make more money out of office

Earlier this week, Bachmann also accused Obama of arming al-Qaeda militants in Syria and said it was evidence "we're in God's end times."

that and she was likely going to lose her election. plus, the whole ethics investigation thing.

she's done in congress - and that's a shame. as the face of the modern republican party; we need her out there every day, fighting the good fight, getting as much media coverage as possible.

Think how much media exposure she'll get when she is the media. She'll cover the outrage of herself saying stupid shiat on her own show

Is there really any room for her, though?  It doesn't seem like anyone's really interested in doing a nationwide syndicated herp-a-derp show; indeed, Rush Limbaugh and Hannity and others are losing affiliates.  She might be too crazy to be a Fox News "contributor" either.  She'll probably just end up doing the circuit of megachurches, going around talking about the evils of homosex.

The thing that disturbs me the most about fundamentalist wharrgarrrbl like that isn't so much that millions of people believe it (and elect others to office who share their beliefs). What disturbs me is that they're so looking forward to it.

How can you have a rational discussion about anything of importance with these people when they're actively hoping for the world to end so they can ascend to an idyllic afterlife?

This is the same reason fundamentalists are such bad drivers. Doing 35 in the fast line on the highway can, worst case scenario, only lead to a better place.

It's hard to argue with that lengthy, well sourced list of impeachable offenses.  Does anyone have the time to debunk each bullet point by point?

I"m guessing she's going to vanish for a while, then have trouble finding a job.  The Republicans need to find a few scapegoats to back out of the Tea Party and sacrificing a useful idiot like Bachmann won't make anybody cry that much.  She'll probably be shilling for late-night TV in the next five to ten years.

I was wondering at the constant use of the term 'thuggery'.

From Hindi ठग्गी (ṭhaggī), from ठक (thak, "thief, swindler"), from स्थग (sthaga, "cunning, fraudulent, to cover, to conceal") hence (sthagati, "he/she/it covers, he/she/it conceals"). Thuggee was an Indian network of secret fraternities who were engaged in murdering and robbing travellers and known for strangling their victims, operating from the 17th century (possibly as early as 13th century) to the 19th century.

That makes sense. Hindus are Muslim, right? I mean, they all wear those turbans and stuff, and Indian Jones fought them, which means they were also Nazis.

It's interesting to note that Michele Bachmann wouldn't accuse a white President of "thuggery."  We know this because she never accused Bush the Lesser of it, and he started two wars....which is pretty goddamn thuggish, if you ask me.

I don't understand how anyone can identify as a tea partier.  Everyone associated with them on a national level, and even on the state level here in Ohio, is such a pathetic loser.  They all seem to be the people who say and do the stupidest things with complete passionate sincerity.

It must be extremely embarrassing.

What works are these people looking at? I mean if I lived during the Dark Ages, bubonic plague, WW1, or WW2 maybe I could believe it was the end of the world. Now we have relative world peace, the highest worldwide standard of living in history and the trends are only increasing. Where are the plagues and signs in that?

It doesn't really matter.  These people are so convinced that The Rapture is bound to happen in their lifetimes that they'll reference any current event and somehow link it back to Revelation.  They want the world to end.  But until then, better keep the brown people and gays oppressed because they're not gonna get picked up when Jesus comes back driving the Short Bus Express to Heaven.

They stole it from shiatty white basketball players that enviously describe their betters in the NBA.

It's been that way as long as I can remember in the south. It really implies a young black male who dresses in a manner that frightens old white people. Usually a hoody and in car with loud music.

Do it, asswipes.  Start impeachment proceedings.  Drag the country into default.  Do it or shut the f*ck up and admit that you've got nothing except "presidentin' while black."

My patience with This Our Modern Republican Party is hovering very near zero.  I don't want to see even a brief period when the Democrats have almost complete power, but that's better than having batshiat faux "conservative" hypocrites running the country from a small minority.  So do it.  Wreck the party.  Give the White House and both houses to the Democrats, and set up a situation where it will take a decade or more to try to convince sane people that you've started to get over this hysterical tribal paranoid knee-jerk hatred of LIBBY LIBS and their Stalinist-Leninist-Marxist-Black-Panther monster Barack HUSSAIN Obama.  Stir up your racist trailer park base to such a pitch of fury that they will frighten everyone else away.  Drive the country into default and trigger a recession that will make 2008 look tame in comparison.

JUMP F*CKERS.

This. They *want* the Rapture. It validates their existence. The idea that they could be wrong about it all eats at them. And doubt kills faith.
