Good thing the sick asshat couldn't order people off the Internet.

I read the headline and stopped there, stories like this always get to me.  I can hear about random people across the planet getting hacked up in brutal tribal wars and not bat an eye, but some asshole torturing animals?  Gets me every time.

I'm not generally a fan of the old testament eye-for-an-eye thing, but with this guy, and anyone else that abuses (helpless, especially) animals, figure out what exactly he did to the cats, and do that to him until he's almost dead, let him heal, and do it again. For each animal.  P.O.S. deserves to be wiped of the planet.

Yeah that is awful.  However, it does remind me of this:

Why is there the assumption that the next step for a person that kills or hurts animals without purpose will be to eventually do the same to humans?

It may not be a given, but almost all serial killers started out with animals.

Arguably, he's more likely to harm humans. People who torture and kill animals like that exhibit little to no empathy. People who are that low on the empathy scale, and who are prone to violence, are probably not to be trusted.

Does this mean he definitely would have moved on to humans? No.

It's just a stronger maybe than some of us are comfortable with.

So, did you are starting out verbally abusing people on the internet and will eventually move on to face to face verbal abusing people, or is the other way around? I imagine there have been investigations into what people who abuse strangers go on to do next...

Violent acts against animals have long been recognized as indicator of a dangerous psychopathy that does not confine itself to animals.
"Murderers...very often start out by killing and torturing animals and kids."---Robert K. Reesler, who developed profiles of serial killers for the FBI. Acts of cruelty toward animals-they can be the first sign of a violent pathology that includes human victims. Animal abuse is not just a minor personality flaw in the abuser but a symptom of a deep mental disturbance. Research in psychology and criminology shows that people who commit acts of cruelty toward animals don't stop there; many of them move on to their fellow humans.

The FBI has found that a history of cruelty to animals is one of the traits that regularly appear in its computer records of serial rapists and murderers. Another study conducted by Northeastern University and the Massachusetts SPCA found that people who abuse animals are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against humans. The majority of inmates scheduled to be executed for murder at California's San Quentin penitentiary "practiced" their crimes on animals, according to the warden.

No, rabid animals need put down quickly. Their disease doesn't need to breed the same disease within the rest of us.
My worst childhood horror was seeing another kid throw a puppy of a cliff. I have no doubt in my mind if I saw someone abusing an animal now, I would be able to kill them with my bare hands.

Anyone ever described to you folks the parasitic cycle that involves your addled brains, cats, and cat poop? The likelihood that you are all cat people because toxoplasmosa gondii has so infiltrated and rewired your brains to be attracted to cats that if you were to be free of cats for a period of time, and gave your brain a chance to rid itself of that parasite without adding fresh injections of it from constant contact with cat poop, you may find yourselves breaking free of a life spent doing something you may only do because some bug told you too and then you created a culture around this affectation to support what you could not explain?

I know that this will appear as conflating two separate worlds of the animal kingdom, but I am responsible for the deaths of thousands upon thousands of animals in my mid-thirties lifetime just by eating a meals every day. It is very hard to see a cat or dog or rabbit or ferret as any different then a cow or pig or chicken or sheep or goat or turkey or....

When I was about 8 or 9 years old one of the neighbor kids poured lighter fluid on one of my kittens and set it on fire.  I was standing in my yard when the poor thing came running past me fully ablaze.  I had to watch as one of the adults grabbed it and bashed it's skull against a brick wall to put it out of its misery.

So ditto on killing an assfark like that with my bare hands.

Perhaps, some smoke signals?

Shelters are a great thing; but, that doesn't mean you should be required to go through some sort of ridiculously complex adoption process at a shelter, before you get a dog.

Just because they are a shelter doesn't mean that they would have spotted this fruit loop before he got the cats. The shelters I've been to are almost exclusively 30 or 40 year old buildings and grossly understaffed by people who don't want to be there.

I have never abused an animal in my life. I am also not a troll in any sense of the word. I truly believe that an animal is an animal is an animal. It's not a matter of dislike, hate, malice or distaste for animals. I suppose, if you want a label that for that ignore, would be that I am a speciest.

I think what you don't get is that most of us would feel the same about someone who tortured cows and pigs. It's not the animal he tortured, it's the torture.
And to your other post, it's not toxoplasmosa gondii, it's toxoplasma gondii. The effect you describe is only in mice where it's believed it causes the mice to be easier to catch for cats, they don't suddenly become friendly with them.

There a large gap between killing animals out of necessity and torturing them to death for fun.

That's so sick. I'm torn between hoping this subhuman piece of filth dies in a very painful, lingering manner, or that he's just locked up and left to rot for the rest of his life. Nothing as fast as a bullet, or hanging; let him suffer daily, knowing nothing will be done for him, and that he's helpless to stop it, like those little animals he killed for no damn reason.

/or leave me with him for 30 minutes
//he'll still be alive afterwards, I promise
