Some of SB was forced but the scene as them in the nazi/klan uniforms was hilarious. And the other guys is criminally underrated.

kroonermanblack: The Gentleman Caller: Nothing having to do with NASCAR will ever be as funny as Step-Brothers. Talladega Nights was way too forced.

...and Step Brothers WASN'T forced?

Honestly, I watched SB and didn't find it particularly good, even for a crap comedy. I'd rather watch Grown ups, or something. Talladega nights, I found pretty funny.

And yes, I meant that. I'd rather watch Grown Ups 1 or 2 than Step Brothers.

your opinion of movies sucks.

I like to think of Jesus like with giant eagles wings, and singin' lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band and I'm in the front row and I'm hammered drunk!

The Banana Thug: Hmm. I think I have to watch Step Brothers again. I remember it being forced and awkward. But I know a lot of people don't like Anchorman, a movie I've defended as being one of the funniest ever. So I might be at the other end of the table this time.

You might be like me. Most Ferrell comedies, I'll only chuckle through on the initial viewing. It's only on multiple viewings where I really start to appreciate some of the comedic subtlety and then I'm hooked. I'm pretty much at the point where I won't see a Will Ferrell movie in the theaters and just blindly buy the DVD, knowing I'll have to watch it more than once. I can actually appreciate parts of Land of the Lost. Particularly the look they give the giant crab as it runs at them while they are high and sunbathing.

I very specifically didn't say I -liked- grownups 1 or 2.

I simply said I'd rather watch them than Step Brothers.  But I don't like forced awkward 'people behaving in broken ways is FUNNY!!!!' comedy.  I find 'the office' (UK and US) tiresome and haven't ever laughed at an episode.

Talladega Nights, and even Grown ups, both hit a much less forced 'look, these people are behaving like broken people, who couldn't ever function in the real world, and IT IS FUNNY!!!!' note.  So I can find them amusing, while in Step Brothers, all I find is a dreary borefest of awkwardness that mews at me to laugh at it, please.

This. I didn't even realize it until you did it, but I'm in your boat.

Love the autotuner scene in Land of the lost.

I like Will Ferrell movies that have Paul Rudd in them. I love me some Paul Rudd. He can even save movies with Jennifer Aniston in them.

You know that scene in Anchorman where all the news teams started fighting each other? I found myself in that kind of situation, except it was during tubing on a river at a place called Wayne's World in Louisiana. A fight broke out and all these other groups (with inner tubes around their waists) ran in to join the fight for no reason. 40 people were fighting for absolutely no reason. Then when the fight broke up, everyone was floating down the river for an hour, holding ice/cold beer cans to their faces and giving the rival groups hate-stares.
