Fark_Guy_Rob: I really don't see an ethical issue. [...] the government stepping in and telling doctors they can't meet a need, that hurts nobody, is ridiculous.

I understand your point of view. I think this is to stop Muslims who would force their daughters to get the test and beat them when they fail it.

Why would you want to test, anyway? If a lady IS a virgin, tells you she is and lost her hymen when doing sports, what are you going to do when the test comes back and she failed it?

What worth can there actually be in knowing this? It just further objectifies women that their virginal status can demanded like that

Fark_Guy_Rob: Okay, I'm a teenage girl in Quebec. Check.
Should we allow doctor's to perform a virginity test on me? Absolutely. Having sex is, at least, as dangerous as using illegal recreational drugs and those are allowed.
Should we allow people to beat their daughter's to death? Absolutely not.

But how is that any different from anything else that might prompt a parent beating a child to death? Should we ban schools from giving grades? What if a parent beats a child to death for failing out of school?

Beating someone to death is *already* illegal in Canada, is it not? So we're going to pass another law, because we think people who will MURDER THEIR OWN CHILD, will not break *two* laws?

Actually there is a legitimate medical reason for one kind a virginity test.  With healthier diets, some women today have penois-proof hymens.  So eventually they need to have it surgically busted.  Those that try to "force the issue" can hurt themselves and possibly have serious bleeding or even an infection.

None of the requests for "virginity tests" in Quebec are for health reasons. All are so families can take the female who fails the test out back and beat her to death.

If my white ass asked a girl for a virginity test, then the entire female population of my town would line up to cock-punch me.

How come the brown people get a free pass? Isn't the whole treating people differently based on their colour racism?

There is no legitimate medical reason for a "virginity test". Dyspareunia is treated when a person seeks treatment for it, not before.

here to help: Although this has likely come from the recent anti-Muzzie efforts in Quebec (NO RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS OR DRESS AT ALL SO WE TOTALLY AREN'T DISCRIMINATING but small crucifixes are still cool!!) it is definitely a plus for women's rights. Frankly I'm surprised this type of thing was allowed in Canada in the first place barring police investigations into molestation/incest/rape.

But seriously... the frenchies freaking HATE muslims. It's one of the few things I despise about Quebec. Otherwise it's like a whirlwind of awesome party sexytime with the coolest musical themetrack to keep you pumping through your debauched chaotic stupor.

Just get checked for STDs and stab wounds once you leave.

It's not just Muslims.
Quebec has a deeper problem of being part of a multicultural country. They want to be part of Canada for economic and other completely rational reasons, and hey Canada's about multiculturalism so they can retain their unique culture - but they have real trouble with everyone ELSE'S culture, especially immigrants, and that's why separatism. It's a lot like Japan in its xenophobic love/hate, though less universal. And it's sad, because like the Japanese, they're lovely people.
Once you understand the problem of a xenophobic minority populace in a multicultural country, everything becomes clear.

Theflatline

Reminds of years ago when I was an IT manager for a group of 8 clinics, we went to a presentation put on by the CDC concerning a certain female malady that causes the shame cave to be quite odoriferous.
The doctor from the CDC explained the easiest way to detect the possibility of an infection was to glove the hand, insert finger into the vagina, and then rub finger on the slide and smell the slide.  It is called the "whiff" test, and it would give off a distinct fish like odor.

Bacterial vaginosis? My doctor told me that she checked my secretions under a microscope.

I'm glad she did, because it turned out I had BV and a freaking yeast infection at the same time.

And no, BV isn't a STI. Its an overgrowth of bacteria in the vagina, but you need to get it taken care of by a doc ASAP because it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease.

sheep snorter: Boy, that country of Queebec sure is archaic.

/Next up: Farkers who think queebec is actually part of Canada.
//Sure they receive lots of Canada's tax money to stay attached and some of 'their' laws actually comply with Canada's laws.
///Yo Mr. business man!! Heres comes the French language police to rip down your sign that is not in French.

///Now how about them chastity belts the Christians still use...

Quebec is full of a bunch of coonts with a superiority complex...

... And it's full of some of the nicest people you'll ever meet who do absolutely nothing to stop or vote against those aforementioned coonts.

/Seriously, you guys aren't special
//If your culture is worth preserving, it'll be preserved, don't force English speakers to put up with French literally throughout the whole country for absolutely no reason.
///Seriously, why does my city have french signage? We had 12 french families move here in the '20s, and they're all dead now, and their descendants all speak English.

brantgoose: They do require virginity tests to attend ComicCon, but they are not intrusive.

They just ask you a couple or four questions.

1. Are you of sane mind and body?
2. Are you attending ComicCon of your own free will rather than acting under duress?
3. Do you admit that you are a virgin?
4. If no, do you still want to attend ComicCon?

You obviously have never been to the SDCC, largest one on the west coast. It brings milllions in tourist dollars to San Diego every year, so much that the local convention center is being expanded -again- just to keep them here.
I've been going since 1989, when they were just a few rooms in the old concourse. Plenty of sane people there, families by the thousands, and many whom I would not classify as perpetual virgins. Matter of fact, for some of these guys and girls this is the only time they get laid all year... some of the hotel parties I have been to would blow your farking mind. The girls get especially wild, being on vacation and all... what happens at comic-con stays at comic-con.

You should come visit sometime if you haven't already. You'd like it. Although it will have to be in 2015... 2014 sold out months ago.
