TWO KOREAS! ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

2013-10-12 09:23:15 AM
I will point this out from TFA:

The comments come after a two-day joint naval drill between Japan, South Korea and the US, which included an American nuclear aircraft carrier, sparked a series of angry responses and threats from Pyongyang.

Note that.  They aren't even pretending like they have any chance in hell of stopping these exercises anymore.  I think this is for internal consumption only.

That time of the month again?

2013-10-12 09:25:46 AM
In a thinly veiled threat to strike the United States, the North's National Defence Commission (NDC), chaired by leader Kim Jong-Un, said the US government must withdraw its policy of hostility against the North if it wants peace on both the Korean peninsula and the "US mainland".

/Well, why don't you just borrow some of Iran's new super stealth mini plastic fighter jets, or ...some of their photoshopped missiles? We might take you seriously then instead of laughing at your sub standard peckers. Then again, probably not.

Enough with the tea party threads.

Those wads were shot. Without significant Chinese aid anymore, no one cares about NK. In a decade everyone in that country will have starved to death and the world can move on.

Oh, I assumed that the story was going to be about the 12 truckers threatening to shut down Washington.

Sorry Korea but we are dealing with a much more clear and present danger in Congress right now. You will have to wait.

Oh, is it already that time of the year when Kimmy Uno waves around his flaccid 1 inch penis? My goodness, the time sure does fly!

Seriously, though - can't we just send a sniper to publicly ventilate Jong Un's head? His schtick is getting annoying.

I worked in South Korea for two years quite a long time ago. I saw 4-5 major threats from North Korea. It's nothing new.

Good news. Most of the Asian countries are also simultaneously suffering from serious political and social crises. Canada is dealing with huge problems all thanks to the Senate and Harper, too. So, everybody panic?

N. Korea warns of 'all-out war'

*yawn* Yeah, sure.

Don't underestimate Best Korea's new leader. He might start off with empty threats like his old man, but at any moment he could escalate to... sarcasm. He knows allthe tricks. Dramatic irony, metaphor, bathos, puns, parody, litotes, and... satire. The man is  vicious.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the Spiny Norman deterrent, we could be plunged into significant rhetoric distress.

2013-10-12 10:42:36 AM
I'm starting to think we're just translating their messages wrong. Maybe they're so insular that their language has (d)evolved to where 'congrats on the war games, let's have lunch' is being mistaken for 'we'll kill you all'.

No. His craziness is stability, at least by NK terms. As long as he is running his mouth, things are fine. There are far more dangerous crazy nutjobs quietly lurking behind the throne in NK, and no one wants to give them an excuse to step forward.

BrainyBear: Oh, I assumed that the story was going to be about the 12 truckers threatening to shut down Washington.

That one made its rounds around my office.  It's easy to explain how the Capitol Beltway cannot be shut down by (even all the) truckers, and that even if remotely feasible, it would be met with deadly force.  It's a little trickier trying to show people how unbelievably f*cking stupid they are without hurting their feelings.

Speaking of throwback...apparently the Best Korean army is armed with WWII era surplus Mosin-Nagants.

Can't say I blame them. $1,999.00 for a case of 20, free shipping, and cheap ammunition. What's not to like?

NKs GDP was increasing last I read.

I'm really sure what exactly they're exporting though, apart from weapons technology (I'm sure people brainwashed enough finds that laughable, but their missile technology is still such that they apparently can launch satellites into space (that the satellite itself failed is irrelevant). And they do know how to build nukes. Keep Soviet Union era airplanes working, and all that kinds of crap. That's still more than 99% of the rest of the shiat holes around the world can figure out to do, and they pay the Norks for that expertise).

Never heard of it, but it sure sounds like shiat after doing the Wiki thing.

All the same, I was replying to someone claiming that NK was going more to hell than it was, when it's infact the opposite.

I once heard that they also control the pachingo machines in Japan btw. Diversified economy for sure. :P
