Good on both.

The story ended where it needed to. And I'm pretty sure we'll get "Hungry Hungry Huell", "Saul Goodman, Cinnabon Manager", and "Badger and Skinny Pete in A Grand Day Out" anyway when the spinoff starts airing.

Vince is already looking at a multi-million dollar payday for the Breaking Bad blu ray sets, in addition to the residuals and syndication deals and the fact that anything he writes from here on end will create a multi-million dollar feeding frenzy.

He can easily afford to stand by his principles and let the story end.

They should have taken the money, then made three episodes about Saul managing that Cinnabon in Omaha.

I'd like to see an animated series of Badger and Skinny Pete discussing possible Star Trek plots.
Walt Jr. could introduce the show every week while eating breakfast.

Hey Katzenberg.... call me.

Jeebus Christ, that wasn't even a good troll statement for three Farkers to respond to.

Too bad he isn't doing the three episodes, I'd like to see if Huell made it out of the room.

The guy that plays Huell is a comedian. I'm surprised that he hasn't uploaded a youtube video of just him for five minutes sitting in a room. Label it as "Huell's epilogue" and watch as it spreads across the internet. Just a small move to get his name back out there and lock in the next project.

I'm kind of shocked that the Fox hasn't put out a collection of the best Vince Gilligan X-Files episodes, with Drive highlighted, just to cash in.

I would have freakin' watched it too.  Paid good money to no less.

What made Breaking Bad so good was that almost every character was a character who could be the focus of their own episode, or even multiple episodes.  The only exceptions I can think of, not including VERY minor characters, are Marie, Flynnm and Andrea/Brock, and that's because those characters were quite obviously designed to serve as contrasts and/or compliments to other characters (Hank, Walt, and Jesse respectively).  Hell, even some of the minor characters I'd watch.  A show about the vacuum repair man would do well.  So would the live-action OR animated adventures of Badger and Skinny Pete.

Vince Gilligan is in a position all but the best writers are envious of: having no shortage of solid, established characters to use in telling stories.

The ending was great. But with seemingly every other show that has ended having its own comic book now, I wonder if a Breaking Bad comic might be worth a go.

Now that the idea is in my head, it really seems like a slam-dunk. Use Drive, Bad Blood, and The Unusual Suspects so you can say: "Featuring Bryan Cranston, Luke Wilson, and Michael Emerson" right on the box, then throw in some more good standalones he wrote like Dreamland and X-Cops. It would be money in the bank.

I have a young boy child. When he was a whopping three years of age he asked me to open the refrigerator door. I, the responsible adult, respoded with "open your face". He proceeded to open his mouth as big as he could. Bastard.

Vince made the right call.

People like Katzenberg are why we can't have nice things, such as ensuring The Smurfs, and The Chipmunks stayed dead.

enry: Good on both.

For different reasons - good on Katzenberg for the willingness to fork over money to pay for good programming, and good on Vince for the fortitude to not piss away good programming for money.

It ended, it ended well, and that's the way it should be - please, don't dig it up & parade it around for cash like a streetwalker.

Or 3 six-minute episodes consisting of circling Walt's lifeless body from above while the forensic team bags evidence.

Three episodes just focused on Walter's grave, with a very brief scene somewhere near the end of each. In the first episode, a future Flynn takes future Holly to the grave while eating a breakfast burrito, whispering in her ear something that can't be heard. In the second episode, Badger will pour out a 40 for him. In the final episode, Jesse suddenly appears and begins dancing on his grave while a chorus of kazoos play.

After the final credits, we see Huell's skeleton on the couch.
