Isn't funny how populist movements invariably end up killing and eating their own?

The Values Voters Summit is always good for some quotes. CPAC too.

Keep it up, Republicans.

Go for it GOP- Drive out the last of those members that have shown any willingness to reach across the aisle. Purge those apostates! Clear the decks of any remaining moderates or even plain old conservatives. Make it so only the truest of true believers can stay. That is how you will back the hearts and minds of Americans!

So Al Qaeda controlled both the candidates running in 2008? With that kind of pull you'd think they would have come out from behind the Democrat's skirts by now.

Hmmmm, far be it from me to complain about a possible GOP civil war but it would be nice if they could do this after taking care of a few things. Namely a budget for next year and raising the debt ceiling so they don't send us back into a recession... Once that's done, I'm all for them playing tummysticks, trying to out dumbass each other or whatever this shiat is

Pretty much this. Would love to watch them kill theirselves but don't want the country to get in the middle of it.

not to mention if the tea party folks win that is kind of horrifying.

Way back when in 2000 I would have preferred it if he'd won the GOP nomination over Bush, but I wouldn't have voted for him then, and didn't when he ran against Obama.

I think he's more sane than the majority of the GOP, and I appreciate it when he talks smack about the teabaggers.  He's willing to break ranks more than most of the Republicans are, so that should be applauded.

I wouldn't say I love him, but I respect him as much as I can any Republican elected official.

Whenever I look at Gohmert, and the way he acts, all I can see is Evil Universe Michael Scott, where he went into politics instead of the paper business at Dunder Mifflin.

(Seriously, he looks like a fat, old Steve Carrell.)

Texans sent Gohmert to congress to get him out of Texas. That's the only explanation I can think of right now.

You're mistaking love for the situation with love for the person.  Don't be dense.
