Adrian Peterson's son has died according to police.

Let's all take a moment to think about the children that this kid will help, since they're donating his organs. It's an awful situation, but someone else is getting their life saved today.

I needed to hear that. Thanks, Bunny.

Douchebags like the one (22 year old) in Georgetown Texas, who beat his girlfriends 2 year old to death because he wanted to sleep off a hangover. The MD said the internal trauma to the little boy looked worse than a car wreck.

Then the mom got arrested when she cursed out the cops trying to arrest him.

Warlordtrooper: IAmRight: I Browse: On another site, I read that Peterson and the mother split custody of the child.

Well, if this is the case, then I retract the comment about him not having anything to do with the child and offer the same condolences to him. I still don't think it's appropriate to call for more punishment of the mother.

My understanding was the mother was out and she left him with her boyfriend.  Someone she thought she could trust.  What exactly would she be punished for?

That would depend on whether she reasonably should not have trusted the child.

JohnBigBootay: Gulper Eel: Why the hell there isn't a domestic violence registry like there is for sex offenders is beyond me.

Naw. We'd be better off spending the same money on social services, addiction and community mental health. That is if we want to actually decrease the number of instances of this happening rather than just make another list...that would ultimately become so long as to be relatively useless. Example - see current sex offender  public urinator, 19 year old dude with 16 year old girlfriend - farked up jerk who is no danger to anyone outside his own family - list and the burgeoning TSA no-fly list that has freakin' babies on it. What the fark is it with this country that we think big problems get solved with a freakin' list? Besides, there's already a list. Assault is a felony crime and a $17 background check will reveal that information as well as any other troublesome details for which said person has been adjudicated for. Ta-da - now we can spend all that silly list money on things that might actually lead to less of the thing we want to put people on a list for.

You forgot the "sex offender" who was a 15 year old that went streaking during a high school football game and then he hung himself rather than live with the label.

JohnBigBootay: We'd be better off spending the same money on social services, addiction and community mental health throwing good money after bad

Fixed, unfortunately.

If spending scads of money solved anything, my home state of New York would be paradise. Our per-pupil spending is second to none; our Medicaid budget, the nation's largest by far and almost as large as the next two state Medicaid programs combined. And there is a huge social services infrastructure, which does a splendid job working and advocating on behalf of...the social services infrastructure.

Actually helping people with serious needs with anything other than getting them to the polls every other November is a secondary consideration.

New York's not above overbilling Medicaid by billions, telling Washington the money's for the profoundly developmentally disabled and then spending it on more immediate political needs.

JohnBigBootay: What the fark is it with this country that we think big problems get solved with a freakin' list? Besides, there's already a list. Assault is a felony crime and a $17 background check will reveal that information as well as any other troublesome details for which said person has been adjudicated for.

So since these are already government records, it shouldn't cost them 17 bucks a pop to make the right ones publicly searchable by anybody meeting somebody new.

Not foolproof by any means - but if anything in this world is a deterrent to violence, it's the prospect of never scoring a decent piece of ass ever again.

We're told the family is monitoring the situation closely, and if there is no improvement in 24 hours, the mother wants to remove life support and donate the boy's organs to people in need.

Jesus Christ. I don't know anything about this guy, or well, football, but what the fark? Who beats a toddler to death?

2013-10-11 08:48:09 PM

Vectron: Patterson was dating the child's mother and was the only one home with the boy Wednesday when the abuse is alleged to have taken place.

Patterson called 911 around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday to report the boy was choking at their Platinum Valley apartment. But Lt. Blaine Larsen of the Sioux Falls Police Department said it became clear at the hospital that the boy's injuries were not accidental.

Larsen said the relationship between the mother and Patterson was "fairly new."

Patterson has a son with another Sioux Falls woman, court records show. Records also show that the mother of his child had asked for protection orders twice, claiming he'd choked and punched her, threatened her with a knife and held her in the bedroom against her will.

Babby mommas don't leave you child at home alone with your boyfriend. This shiat happens over and over.

The top group of sole child abusers is the mother at 40.8% (vs 18.8% of sole abusers being the father and 16.9% of abusers being both the father and mother together).  I'll let you interpret that as you wish.

Sure they do, but not for the same reasons.  A state of impoverishment isn't typically something a person can control, so that ought to be a factor in deciding whether or not this individual should be charged with a crime.

Of all the things in your life, poverty is one of those over which you exercise substantial, even sole, control.

why? i'm not trying to be an ass, but kids die every day, why do people care so much if they hear about one particular death related to someone famous?  hug your kids everyday regardless of the fact that hundreds of kids are dying that day.
