They aren't bad, but the real reason to eat at Culver's is dessert.

The 2 times I've been to Culvers (Grand Forks and Madison) I was travelling and the meal filled me up enough that dessert wasn't going to happen. The next time I may have to make an exception.

a) Vaguely Interested to find there's a Plainfield IL. Grew up in next town N of Plainfield IN.
b) Do like their Cheese Curds better'n their Butterburgers.   Pour moi that = dessert.

lesliessexxy: MMMMmmmmmmm....Culver's. *drool*

I will second that, one opened up a few miles from here last year and I love their burgers and my wife loves the Reuben sandwiches and the ice cream is exceptional. Pretty good (although not unique) of service model of placing order at the counter then gets delivered to your table when ready.
Oh and from the profile pic i will second that Leslie is very sexy!

Culver's is some addictive stuff. Ask for marinara sauce when you get the cheese curds; way better than ranch.

Word to the wise: Unless you're some hideous fatass, a Small sized "Concrete Mixer" is plenty enough.

"An employee who was cleaning up after Timothy Churnovic, 22, of 1200 Nicholson, Joliet, and Christopher Kocourek, 20, of 21457 W. Chestnut, Plainfield, left the 1500 S. Route 59 fast-food business found a cigarette packet that contained about 1.5 grams of heroin, Capt. Les O'Connor said."

And one vial of ricin as well.

About 3 years ago a Culver's opened that I could hit with a rock while standing on my back patio.  Been once.  It was ok, I don't know why I haven't gone there more, but when thinking of a place to eat, it never comes to mind.  Life's a mystery.

I am a big Culver's fan -- I am doing a ton of business in Wisconsin, and they are everywhere, which is nice.  We have a few in Iowa too, praise be to Allah.

Culver's makes great burgers. I'll always grab a burger there, then pick up fries and a coke at the McDonalds that's next to it. Actually, there's a Wendy's in between,

/don't like crinkle cut fries and the mcd's coke is sharper

i don't understand why, upon finding a cigarette pack with heroin in it, a person's first thought would be to phone the police.

anyway, decent burgers and frozen custard.

this post brought to you by Culver's

Didn't you RTFA? You go to Culvers for heroin, not coke

And you people keep going on and on about Five Guys vs. In-N-Out. Both forgetting that we actually have the damn cows right here and we know what to do with them.

probably not, but when ultra-high field strength mri came out, i was doing research into addiction...scanned hundreds of addicts with mri, then fMRI....i was always amazed at how many of them were highly intelligent- not just smart, unusually high levels of intelligence- extremely creative and very, very artistic.  also, very easily bored.

Our local Culver's is spotless. Cleaner than high-end restaurants. It's the only chain restaurant that I don't get into often enough.

I haven't been in Wisconsin for 10 years. Is Culver's the place with the "Butter Burger?"

/eating my first burger from Super Duper Burger...Fan-farking-tastic!

Not Ice cream, frozen custard, and amazing.
At Culvers get the pot roast sandwich with grilled onions. I live across the street from a Culvers, so at some point I needed to diversify, and eat less and workout more.

Five Guys vs. In-N-Out. No. In-N-Out vs McDonalds maybe, Five guys is in a completely different category.

The Really Reeses frozen custard is the best thing I've ever had. Mmmmm

Ahh Culvers. When the South said our cuisine is the best way to kill you with meat & dairy. Wisconsin said...challenge Accepted.

My daughter ate all of her first butter burger, fries and ice cream (Scoopie Meal) the very first time we went to Culver's, at 4 years old. She loved it.

Me, I got hooked on trying their monthly special burgers, but my local Culver's haven't had one in months. So for me, I've gone back to the Bacon Double Deluxe basket with Onion Rings. Their rings are good. I love Culver's.

But one of the circles of hell is Culver's during the local school's "Culver's Night" where the school gets 10% of all sales for a few hours. The first time we went to one of those was when she was in a school that was only 4-K and Kindergarten. Picture lots of 4 and 5 year olds, with their family. Scoopie was there, scaring the hell out of the younger kids (screaming, crying) and the place was PACKED. Just crazy. Never went to one of those again.

I have no idea why I capitalized "onion rings"...... Preview should become my friend.

More so than the general population? Or compared to where we might (biasedly) expect?
I just think that certain people have more propensity to get 'addicted' to something, even if it is work or video games, though personalities run the range.

Meh, their burgers are okay.

Gosse's, Charcoal Inn South, Randalls, or Shultz's, those are where you can get a true butter burger. Hint; its not a buttery bun; its a slab of butter on the burger itself.

You do realize that you're comparing a burger franchise with close to 400 locations nationwide against your 4-5 handpicked and unique locations?   I've only eaten at Culver's a handful of times (in different states no less), but Culver's is pretty damn impressive considering the scale of their operation and the quality they've managed to maintain, despite having a fast food format. Any schmuck can open a single location in Sheboygan and serve a decent burger.

You don't understand. He knows of even better burger places. But you probably haven't heard of them.

Sure, Culver's tastes pretty good and all, but it's got this lard-ass goody-two-shoes vibe about it that you can only find in the midwest.  Something about it gives me the super creeps.  Like they're all smiles and cleanliness on the outside, but you just know that there's a skinned torso and three girls tied to chairs trying to get your attention from the back room.  But you're too oblivious to notice because you're stuffing your face.  And I'm just as guilty at ignoring those poor girls' plight the 3-4 times a year I go there.
