It's been raining for two days straight. I'd be surprised if they're even able to merge on to the beltway, let alone get up to 55.

2013-10-11 10:29:15 AM
They need about 10.  10 trucks to ride side-by-side on the Inner Loop at about 30mph, effectively blocking all lanes.  Not that they will figure out how to do this effectively.

Sure, but if you unskew that small gathering it becomes huge!

Trucks and veterans this weekend. FEMA camps will be full.

It is Friday, it will look like just another day to the folks trying to exit the district.

They got 30 trucks according to the Washington Post. And supporters are tweeting pictures from some Make-A-Wish convoy under sunny skies. A REVOLUTION indeed.

I was going way more than 55 this morning going south on the beltway.  Usual traffic around 29 going north.

Police pulled them over for being assholes:

Police pulled over a group of trucks who were driving 15 mph side-by-side across all four northbound lanes of I-495. Police did not issue any tickets, but warned the truckers not to disrupt traffic.

Obviously the camra man is a libtard plant, if it wasn't a vertical picture, it would have shown the 1000,00 other truckers there.

if your goal is to gridlock a city, wouldn't Monday or Tuesday be a much better day to try it? I would guess that even in DC, Friday is a pretty popular day to take off, right?

I'm not sure why people are attacking the truckers' actions. I'm pretty sure we can all agree that Congress needs to feel something.

But hey, if you want to start calling names and playing victim, I'm more than willing to ignore your short-sighted commentary.

I flipped off a trucker with an "Impeach Obama" banner across the aero-pannels underneath his trailer. I wonder if that fool is there today.

Anyway, fark semi trucks. Slow, dangerous, bad for the roads, and bad for the environment.

Yeah, that's a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy...

Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June
In a Kenworth pullin' logs
Cab-over Pete with a reefer on
And a Jimmy haulin' hogs
We was headin' for bear on I-one-oh
'Bout a mile outta Shaky Town
I says, "Pig Pen, this here's Rubber Duck.
And I'm about to put the hammer down."

Came here just for this! thank you!

Did they attempt to make a citizens arrest of the police officers, for being corrupt and conspiring with the Senators and Representatives that they plan to arrest and detain today as well?

Traffic is generally worse on Fridays, as more people are heading out of town etc. Friday afternoons are particularly brutal.

Also, gas is cheap as hell, so nobody minds circling the Beltway (about a 1.5/2-hour drive with no traffic at 65-70ish) all day.

// and yes, it's a violation of road rules to go the same speed as the people next to you
// most of the time, cops don't care, unless it's coordinated to hold up traffic
// did anyone catch Chief Derp of the Truckers' Brigade? "Soshalustbama is Musliming all over us hard-werkin' Real Murkins who just want are countree back!"

You've got old disinformation, bro. The person who made the ignorant statement of "arresting" anyone was not authorized to speak on behalf of anything.

Friday morning traffic is usually lighter, Friday afternoon traffic is usually god awful, starting at about 2:30 or 3pm.  If you're taking a weekend trip you wanna be gone before 3 or it's gonna be bad times on 95.

Silly subby, a gathering of trucks won't bring any Washington big wigs to their knees. A gathering of truckers at a rest stop, however...

Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to inconvenience politicians in a legal or way that does not cause hardship for us poor working (and unemployed) stiffs. We still need to get to our jobs through these blockades, but the pols can stay home and their bank accounts continue to grow.

Of course you can always kick them out the next election, but the pols can pretty much count on most voter's short memories.

If congress gave even remotely a single fark about "frustrated people" they wouldn't have furloughed 800k federal workers.  They have the lowest approval rate in history, over 50% of the country hates at least one party, and they're still going on about their business.

Yep. The best way to rally people to your cause is to fark with their commute on a Friday.

But then again if these people were actually smart, they'd be contributing to society and not sitting in a vehicle all day smelling of Denny's eggs and desperation.
