/great show,

I'm geeked for the new season starting this Sunday.

By rehearsing and auditioning. Groundbreaking idea there, more people should try it.

Actually, no. I've never wondered about that.

From TFA:  Lincoln beat 100 rivals for the part of the Kentucky policeman.

I had thought King County was (a fictional county) in Georgia - w/in walking distance of Atlanta

The one thing that bothers me a little about the series:

It's set in the south, right?
Where are all of the fat zombies? Whar?

Heh. This. But my snark was going to be:

"By Auditioning? Clever play. Bet his 100 rivals never saw that coming!"

True. Rick is from Georgia in the TV show and Kentucky in the comic book.

The zombie infection doesn't affect those with diabetes. They just turn into a gooey mess with globules of fat remniscient of a Paula Deen recipe.

I read that as Abraham Lincoln.  Not sure if I need to start drinking more or less.

Bad researcher. The comics are set in Kentucky but the show is set in Ga.

I don't live too far from where they film it.  I'd love to be a zombie extra.  I'm not overweight at all (5'8" and wear a size 9-10) but based on this, I'm not bony enough.

To become a zombie you gotta get bitten and then escape so you turn instead of getting eaten. The fatties can't get away, so no fat zombies.

presumably the padding kept them from dying when attacked until their bodies were too mangled to travel once they turned. It's not that fat zombies don't exist, it's that they don't get around much so you don't see them.

My son and I have a running silly argument going - there's one thing I don't get (and it's stupid but I can't help it). So, there's some virus which reanimates the body in minutes to up to 8 hours. Brain stem is functional, but no frontal lobes etc. Heart must work because muscles work. Lungs must work because they make sounds. They do eat. So AFAIK they're pretty much completely functional beings that are just really really primitive mentally.

So, why do they decompose?

So why is it you only have a handful of brothers because last time I was down there, there's quite a bit of black folk in GA

Maybe because they keep running into shiat, and have untreated wounds all the time.
Falling down, hit by cars the occasional boot to the face...

Make-up doesn't contrast well? They ran out of town faster? I don't know.

Because the zombie virus has leprosy-esque components to it. Or something.

Ok, FULL STOP.

Are you using the word "missing" because the scenes only exist in your imagination or are you saying that these scenes were actually filmed and are just locked away somewhere?

This is important to my "research".

Or maybe they are ravaged by bacterial infections from eating raw flesh, intestines, etc. They all just need some heavy duty antibiotics.

Untreated wounds that fester and rot because the immune system is also shut down due to limited brain function. They've found during traumatic brain injury moments that white blood cells are dramatically increased due to an increase in a specific protein which may be facilitated in working through the limbic system.

And really we are all just one festering wound anyway, without a system in control telling cells what where and how to reproduce eventually we'd all rot to nothing.

Pinner: Make-up doesn't contrast well? They ran out of town faster? I don't know.

I'm going with the obvious racist joke here since they own sports for the most part.

When the first walkers showed up, the majority of the black people said "Something is not right here, I am leaving. Now."

And most of the white people were like "Oh, what's going on? Looks like Ted didn't mow his lawn right. Say, Ted, you missed a patch over there...why are you looking at me like that? Listen here, you just can't...ARGHGHSERGHSERGSHErghhherrrg!" Or maybe they tried to pack up their entire Precious Moments figurine collection.

In the Walking Dead universe, just dying causes you to come back as a walker, unless you brain yourself in the process of dying.

Hah, was trying to remember who he played in Love Actually.
That scene was a bit of a tear-jerker. Ultimate friend-zoning.

I think he's a good actor and he brings a lot to the part, but he needs to maybe limit the number of times he does the 'look a thousand yards away and reel' thing every time his character sees or hears something disturbing.  Started to look really contrived by the second season.

Brits playing Southern characters?  It makes sense - they have to create an accent, so they end up with one that doesn't make them sound completely inbred and retarded, unlike actual Southerners, who can't help it.

Difference is that those accents sound nothing alike, its like saying NYers sound like Boston folk.

Easy.  Just like most horror movies, the producers kill the black dude first.

The fatties all got eaten in the initial outbreak. I imagine they were rather tasty.
