Mopeds are like fat girls.  It's fun to ride one but you don't want your friends to find out.

Well, I'm not surprised. A woman wears panties of that color and design and bad things are bound to happen.

2013-10-11 01:33:31 PM
Should have used those panties as a drag chute.

I would've guessed it ran out of gas.

Have a cousin that did nearly the exact same thing the first time he ever got on a dirt bike... except he hit a house.

Not a moped.

I will never understand why people just go full out on a throttle

Anthracite: I will never understand why people just go full out on a throttle

You panic, pull the brake lever and as a side effect twist the throttle even further.

Just took our "Intermediate Trail Riding" course in prep for Baja Mexico ride this winter. It always fascinates me when people get on motor bikes of any kind with that little of knowledge what they are doing. Any bike with a motor on it is dangerous, add in all the garbage that goes along with sharing the road with a random cross section of distracted monkeys, it can be down right deadly.

Love my motorcycles, but man I hate seeing people doing it that poorly.

// ride with lots of women

I laughed too hard at that.

American's haven't really been exposed to motorbikes. For us, the only thing between a bicycle and a motorcycle is a moped.

As for the video, I tried really hard not to laugh.

Not sure how you caught a glimpse of her panties when her floral-print shirt was tucked down into her jeans.

Nope, those are her panties. Ask  crab66 if you don't believe me.

Meh. First time I drove a 3 wheeled ATV (early '80's) I went about 10 feet straight into a barbed wire fence.

It's not even a question of panicking, I think it's a bad UI design since a body with mass will tend relatively rearward on a motorcycle, and since that body is linked to the throttle and using the throttle both as support as well as velocity input the linkage through the arm tends to roll the throttle open, accelerating the bike, sending the body even more rearward, opening the throttle wider, accelerating the bike, ...

I think it's bad ui design and it caught me once or twice and I am somewhat surprised that that design still persists though I am fairly certain suggestions to change it would be met with the Bluth Chicken Dance.

I laughed! Did something similar on a home-built scooter my neighbor made. I was having trouble starting it. He said to give it some gas. I opened the throttle, pulled the rope and it ran happily down the road into a tree. I was left standing at the starting point.

Tell me about it, the first two times I rode a dirt bike A)as the above Nightenstaff's cousin did I crashed into a house after I went over a sizable berm and the too-large helmet flipped in front of my face, then B) a few years later I laid the same bike down in the middle of the street.

Needless to say, I don't ride.

Saw the same thing happen to a friend of mine when we were maybe 12 yrs old...  We gave him plenty of instruction, then he gets on the bike for the first time and immediately goes 7/8 throttle into a wall about 75 yards away. The damn minibike even had a full-throttle cut-off, but he never hit it, just started moving and panic set in.

Thankfully, he was wearing a helmet.

Now don't go dragging all "Americans" into your own, personal unknowing ways. That ain't no moped, it's a damn scooter.

What a moped might look like... namely with pedals:

It's just a regular motorcycle, not a scooter. At least not according to the US DOT.
