Only an idiot would say "burnt toast" to the TSA.

Perhaps customs was involved in some sort of seizure.

I don't see the constitution mentioning the right to burnt toast.

If you don't like the restriction then don't fly. Deal with it, toasties.

Relax.  The TSA just got a new recruit, that's all.

Those poor slobs at the TSA have a crummy enough job that they don't need some crusty jerk creating resistance and causing problems.
If it were rally terrorists, however, they would have put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and set it to 30 minutes.

I used to work in an Air Force building.  Using a toaster plugged in to the modular furniture was extremely verboten.  Still, there were times when I would see Air Force firemen running through the building in their silver fire retardant suits carrying a toaster.

I would like to add to this the additional scene of a GS-12 running behind them crying "Please!  My pop tart!" but this never happened.  You know this to be true because GS-12s never run.

People burn toast, bagels, and popcorn all the time at my job. During the summer when the fire alarms go off we al file outside and enjoy the sun. During the winter we say "fark it" and just stay inside.

My wife flew out of BTV this morning. I dropped her off at 04:55 and the alarms started going off as I was pulling away from the curb. She thought she had tripped the alarm by inadvertently going through the wrong door.

So I'm really getting a kick.

Ok, seriously, seasonal flights to Toronto makes you an international airport?

1) Not even at quittin' time on Friday?
2) What if a fireman were to ascend to GS-12?  Is he retired, or made some sort of sedentary mustachioed pot-bellied guy who stays with the fire truck and yells into a walkie-talkie?

I see half of you didn't read the article.

A fire alarm goes off, the airport closes, fire trucks respond. How is this assinine? Isn't that the way things are supposed to work?

I mean, sure, burning toast so bad you set off the alarm is fail-tastic, but still.

I had a flight delayed for 24 hours at Heathrow because somebody burnt a Whopper at Burger King. They put us up in a hotel near the airport.  The next morning when the airport re-opened, every street around Heathrow was packed with backed up traffic.  It was like a parking lot.  I ended up getting off the shuttle and walking the last mile to the terminal, dragging my luggage.
