OdradekRex: +1 for Dem seat count in 2014

Great.  I can't wait to hear in 2015 and beyond how the Dems controlled the House, Senate and the White House and got nothing done (basically a repeat of 2011 to now).

//Filibuster-proof majority: If your average Tea Partier was honest or intelligent enough to know this fact, they'd be as silent as a congressional page whose mouth is duct-taped shut in the brownstone basement of a Republican Congressman just prior to anal.

That's not a lock.  The 13th was drawn to encompass white Pinellas suburbs.  The 14th (my district) is a much better representation of the area since it has the cities of St. Petersburg and Tampa.

John Dingell, serving since December 1955, would like Bill Young to get off his lawn.

That's TEA PARTY territory!

/Meh. That guy was part of the problem.

Yeah, there isn't much of a difference between Washington D.C. and Ann Arbor, MI.  Both are full of overgrown children that whine and biatch when they don't get their way, drink or do drugs far too much, and think they're a lot smarter than they really are.

I'm moving to Ann Arbor ASAP, so I'm getting a kick...

Out of curiosity, I wanted to see who would have GOP seniority next (Rep Don Young - AK) and didn't realize just how much longer John Dingell has been in office (seniority date: Dec 13, 1955) over his colleagues.

According to wiki, Obama won the district by 52-46 last year.

So it's more likely than you think.

Midterms don't bring out young voters.  I'd bet red, but I hope I'm wrong.

Sweet. In 2015 the Democrats can pass 50+ bills that fully fund Obamacare!

From TFA:

"Young, 82 and first elected in 1970... has been hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center since late last week because of a back injury."

Isn't one of the primary reasons for the shutdown the GOP's hatred of the idea of government getting involved in healthcare?

FTFA: The Florida lawmaker was passed over by then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich after the GOP gained power in the 1994 elections because he had worked too closely with Democrats.

Well, can't have that.
