wooden_badger: Lucky let us know it was time yesterday when he couldn't keep any food down and he had difficulty getting around.  He passed over the Rainbow Bridge peacefully this morning to join his friend Buddy.

He had lost even more weight since his last vet visit and I couldn't bear to make him go through any more if it was to just prolong his life a few weeks.

[i137.photobucket.com image 639x480]

Rest in peace, my little friend.

Our condolences from the vudutek family and clowder.

vudutek: Sad to report that Boo crossed the bridge this morning.  Thank all of you for your prayers and support.

I'm sorry about Boo, I'm sure Rocky and Kay, and all of the other kitties we've lost in recent months were waiting at the bridge going "wait til you see this place, gooshies everywhere!"

So sorry for all the sads this week :'(  It's so hard to let them go...

Happy for those who are thinking about or have new fuzzy friends in the household!

I've completely spaced most of what I wanted to comment on from Thursday & Friday...

And a tortie (torbie?) who is rather photogenic:

OK,
Here is a funny story since this has been a down Caturday. This is the adventure of Ice Queen at Polaris today.  Well, not the mall but the strip mall across the road.

I come out of JoAnns (man that place was busy today!) and trying to get out of the lot. As I'm sitting there waiting for an opening to pull out into the main drive/road/aisle/whatever its called, this kid starts throwing one hellacious temper tantrum. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREAKING ROAD! So now you have cars trying to get around this kid throwing a screaming fit, throwing thing and all dad is doing is saying "you can't do this in the middle of the road" and "you need to get out of the road". Note, I don't say dad is picking said kid up and moving him out of the road (kid is maybe 3 at the most, can't blame him). So now people are yelling at this guy to move his kid and he's still negotiating. Then this lady comes marching out of JoAnns and goes "Pick him the hell up!". Not sure if that was mom or not but I had an opening and I took it because it could get ugly.  So yeah, parent of the year material there.

The best part was, the older kid (school-age) goes across to these median things where they have bushes planted and just sits there and watches everything that's going on!

I was looking up something for someone and found some funny stuff I'll share later, but while I was doing that, there was a *thump* at the dining room window...
It was this little guy...

He's a Flycatcher of some sort, probably an Acadian, and still a little out of it here.
I'm not sure if the colour on the top of his head was there before the window, I've looked up all kinds of Flycatchers and none seem to have anything like that :^(
But it wasn't long before he was together enough to fly off... so hopefully okay!

I am so sorry to hear about all the heartbreaks this week. Hugs and positive thoughts to all of you from Wentworth, and me.
I was messing around in the 'bukket and put some stuff on Wentworth. It don't look right to me. Pardon the nasty table and needing vacuumed floor. My house is going to hell in a hand basket while I am trying to get The Beaver Den done.

I think you might be on to something there!  the two white lines on the wing and the little bit of white around the eye match the Acadian Flycatcher as well, but the rusty cap seals the deal.
I stand corrected.

We occasionally get one bounce off the screen (!) of the living room window at the front, it's a bank of double hung windows so full screens on the outside side,  before here, I've never known a bird to fly into a screen.  The one today missed the half of the dining room window with the screen and nailed the glass, like a normal bird.

So sorry for your loss. i can only imagine that his handsomeness equalled his mousing prowess. Thank you for sharing him with us. We understand your loss. We care.

I notice your home is exceptionally nicely-lit, which is definitely conducive to great photos.  Good to have subjects that will actually stay still too.

I have the best luck with close-ups of animals that won't flee in terror as soon as they see me.
