Why not both?
An HR ninja!
Much awesomeness in one title.

DoomsDayAardvark: The Ice Queen: DoomsDayAardvark: Oh gad, I need some cat time.  Today was crappy.

After several years of putting it off, I finally made a dentist appointment for today.  I hate going to the dentist, but I could no longer put it off.  So I left work early to make sure to give myself plenty of time.  Hit every damn light as it turns red.  Then as I'm about to turn onto the last street I need...*bam* road closed.  Figure I'll go around the block.  Fine plan, except for the train that decided this was a good time to pull through town (seriously...the hell?).  And then I have the appointment and, hooray!  I get to have a root canal.  So there goes another couple grand that I don't need to spend.

I have 5 foster kittens doing their best at making me laugh. They are such bad kittens.

Was it you that volunteers for Cozy Cat?  If so do you guys have any particularly pettable kittens at the moment?  I might need to visit some this weekend.

Too bad you aren't closer to NY. I have some new little ones you would love to visit with!!

Salem Witch: spinach gunk: How is Buddy the Wonderdog?

He's been doing quite well for the past couple days, thanks!  He seems to go through these weird cycles of doing OK for a week or two, then losing his appetite and feeling miserable for a week or two.  Last time, getting the poop moving seemed to help him a lot, so this time, we gave him the laxative after his first day without eating or pooping, instead of waiting several days for him to work things out by himself.  It seemed to do the trick.  He started eating again after only two days, no appetite stimulant needed, and the poop was also forthcoming.

Yesterday & today he's been on a total eating jag.  His current favourite food is Weruva's "Paw-lickin Chicken", which is basically human-grade canned shredded chicken breasts in brothy gravy.  It's expensive but he loves it and it's definitely healthy for him.  I can get him to eat regular dog food by spooning the gravy on top too.  Unfortunately it gives him horrific farts, but we can live with that.  It's so nice to see that boy wolf down some good food.

Last night as we ate dinner he went apeshiat for our green peas, all google-eyed and twitchy, dancing and staring and begging, I swear we each fed him at least half our peas, I should have cooked a whole extra serving just for him!

He also looks unbelievably farking comfy when he sleeps during these good phases.  Total cute overload.  Good days are good.  Let's leave it at that for now.  :)

Several months ago, my family's youngest cat, a Siamese mix named Emperor Ming suddenly disappeared and hasn't been seen since. This 3 month old fellow appeared in Wednesday's paper in the usual Sevier County Humane Society ad.  We went to see him.  First sight was of him desperately wanting out of his cage and as he was held, he purred and "kneaded" the air.  He came home Thursday afternoon after he got fixed and hasn't stopped purring since!  No fear of the other cats, playfully chases the border collie and loves to be around people

catmandu: Good news finally! I had some money left over from the donations you wonderful, wonderful Farkers and Farkettes gave me to care for Mandu so I finally got Mika in for her long overdue (by 3 years) checkup and shots. I don't know what triggered Mandu's lack of appetite and liver disease so I wanted to make sure it wasn't something that spread to her. Definitely not. She is healthy as a horse, and about the size of one too. Mika is a Maine Coon and will be six years old this coming New Years Eve. She weighs 14.5 lb which is above average for female coonies but is a perfect weight for her. Heart, lungs, teeth, eyes, ears, etc. are all in excellent health. The vet said that she has tiny teeth for a coonie, which is small comfort to me when she decides to nip at my toes :p

The silly girl:

My mom's Maine Coon lived 13 years and was about 20 pounds.  He died of cancer, which I think might be common in the breed.

This was my Caesar kitty, I lost him to cancer some months back and I dearly miss him.  He was the mouse-killingest kitty I've ever had, usually bringing us three every night, sometimes more...a regular green-house guardian.  I sure miss you Caesar kitty, I know you're giving those mice hell wherever you are.
