Up first is Regi, Regina, Queen of All...

She's about 14 here, and going grey in the face.

This little terrorist is Ti...
she'd be about 11 here and also starting to fade in the face.
They both made it to 17, although Regi probably should have only made 16.  Still conflicted about that all these years later.  Lesson is when you think it's time, it probably is.
Regi was the first dog that was my dog right from about 8 weeks old, Ti was about 8 years when she arrived, her previous humans had a baby and couldn't cope with both.

brittany?

Regi, yup!

Thanks to all of my Caturday family... Boobus is sleeping right now. Bleeding has stopped for now. We'll give him another feeding in a bit. We're not taking things a day at a time, more like an hour at a time....

Regi was sweet to EVERYTHING, even tried to make friends with a mouse once...  Ti was sweet with humans, (loved to sleep UNDER the covers where it was really warm.)  but anything smaller and furry, it was like the shark eyes rolled back in her head and it was all instinct from there...  Jack Russles were bred as ratters after all...

yobbery: DoomsDayAardvark: Oh gad, I need some cat time.  Today was crappy.

After several years of putting it off, I finally made a dentist appointment for today.  I hate going to the dentist, but I could no longer put it off.  So I left work early to make sure to give myself plenty of time.  Hit every damn light as it turns red.  Then as I'm about to turn onto the last street I need...*bam* road closed.  Figure I'll go around the block.  Fine plan, except for the train that decided this was a good time to pull through town (seriously...the hell?).  And then I have the appointment and, hooray!  I get to have a root canal.  So there goes another couple grand that I don't need to spend.

/sigh
//needs to pet a kitten or something
///kitten shortage

Cost aside, root canals aren't bad in themselves (I've had two.) It's all the stuff that leads up to them that hurts.
Hope you feel better soon.

/yes, I'm sure there's a kitten in your future.

This will be my second.  I survived the first one fine, but they're just unpleasant.  I don't like people rooting around (as it were, pun not really intended, but we'll go with it) in my mouth.  I don't like being numb, and I *really* don't like needles.  But at least it will be over.  I was actually starting to think it might be time to go cat shopping again soon, but this month just turned expensive (as have pretty much all months for the last 4 or 5 for me).  It's not so bad that I can't deal with it or anything, it's just starting to get annoying.  There's people (in this thread even) with much worse problems than I have, so I don't want to steal any of that thunder with my bellyaching, but I *do* feel like repeatedly banging my head against a wall.

Wall-o-text time:

Boobus needs some prayers, light, good vibes, whatever ya's got.... Our buddy has been with us for around 6.5 years, came in as a stray. When we took him for his first exam, we were told he's FIV+, so we knew up front that his odds weren't good. We were aghast when the vet asked then if we wanted him put down! With a face like ^THAT^?

Anyways, he's been healthy as a horse and happy as a clam since the day he came home with us. Until this week. Wednesday afternoon, I get a panic call from Mrs. vudutek; Boo is bleeding from his mouth. I come home thinking he lost a tooth or something, but noooooo, anything but. We rushed him to the vet. Found he has a lesion on the roof of his mouth that has apparently made contact with a blood vessel. They got the bleeding to stop, gave him antibiotics and steroid injections, and we brought him home. Took 2 hours to clean up the bllod from the carpets.
Yesterday the bleeding started again (not as bad), but back to the vets. They gave him a round of sub-q, and we got some soft food and syringe to keep him fed. Oh, did I mention he hadn't eaten or drank any water since this started Wednesday? So, we've been giving him his feedings every few hours, he's just been resting on the floor beside the bed.
This afternoon, he started bleeding again. Bad. This time, he must have ingested a large quantity. I was watching when he appeared to be heading to the litter box. Halfway there, he threw up a HUGE mass of blood / food / ?, He then collapsed in the mess, gasping for air. Off to the vet again for another round of sub-q. The only positives we have from the vet is that his temp is good, so 1) no fever) and 2) not in shock, which would show a drop in temp. Vet says to keep him comfy through the weekend, and give the steroids some more time to work. Even so, we know the writing is on the wall at this point, and we're devastated. We knew the FIV would eventually be an issue, but this was s ...

Sending every ounce of good karma I can.. plus hopes and prayers aplenty.... Tailer is my basement kitty.. FelLuk carrier, though not sick.. always worry that it will get him..  hope that Boo can fight it off....
