Why are you twitching? Because you favour the (equally correct) 'disoriented'?

(disorientated is nowhere at all correct)

I always thought the proper term for a baby otter was "pup." That said, I was too busy going "squeeeeeeeeeeeee" at the sight of Merkie's smile and real paws to notice any linguistic faux pas.

I wouldn't. The cuteness would be too overwhelming and I'm afraid I would squeeze it to death. I would have to maintain a safe distance and call the proper authorities.

It is if you're British, apparently.

I had a sea otter pop up and put his paws on my kayak when I was out on the bay a while back. Cute little guy just stared at me for a minute, then he smiled... yes, smiled, and dove away. It was jarring and incredibly adorable.

I simply don't see the need to add an extra syllable to a word when you don't have to.

The best part of your quote is that if you were a young-earth nutjob, you could extrapolate out, with no grounding in logic, that because we don't have proof of old animals, animals don't age.

Disclaimer: not accusing you of anything; it popped into my head when I read that, and thought it was funny.
Re-disclaimer: not responsible if you don't find it funny.

Hm,  not only is disorientated correct, it has been for over 400 years.

I'm highly disorientated now.

From Urban Dictionary:

Disorientated is the British spelling/pronunciation (originally from a French word) of the US slurred and lazy variant disoriented. Meaning: Confused. To lose one's sense of direction.

It appears in all English dictionaries (as opposed to US-English) and the word has been in use since (at least) circa 1704.

I don't care how old "disorientated" might be, it still looks and sounds incorrect 100% of the time.

Transportated. Yes/no?

I was going to mention that the otter in this article appears to be smiling - a LOT, so I believe it.
