Glorious quote for sure but if it was the Rangers doing that to San Jose I'm sure he'd be in a nasty mood. They embarrassed the Rags and cheaply knocked out their best player.
Every game Hertl plays is going to be a big target now. I don't believe San Jose will come out on top of this.

Doubtful, but if they're going to target him "every game," they will have to do it quickly.  Hertl only had 11:30 ice time against New York when he scored those four goals.

As someone said in the other thread, I don't think other teams are going to care that much that the Rangers were embarrassed on one night.

As a Sharks fan I have to give full credit to the Rangers for not taking 2 full periods' worth of play to unload all their frustrations on the Sharks.  That game could have gotten out of hand quickly on numerous occasions.  There are plenty of other teams where that situation would have gone the other way.  I would feel worse about the drubbing, but handing a big market team their ass always warms my heart.

Hertl is great for the fans in SJ, and I think a lot of us were really worried about the next round of rookies.  The kid will have a mark on his back but good luck lining him up.

Reggie Dunlop: They brought their farkin' TOYS with 'em!

McGrath: Well, I'd rather have em playin with their toys than playin with themselves

Reggie Dunlop: They're too dumb to play with themselves. Boy, every piece of garbage that comes into the market and you gotta buy it!

McGrath: Reg, Reg, that reminds me. I was coachin' in Omaha in 1948 and Eddie Shore sends me this guy who was a terrible masturbator, you know, couldn't control himself. Why, he would get deliberate penalties so he could get over in the penalty box all by himself and damned if he wouldn't... you know...

Four goals in twelve minutes? Well, there's another reason why San Jose are my preferred Western team. In addition to "sympathies on the teal, bruvs" there's now "thank fark they're in the other conference"...

Rangers are wimps now that Torts is gone. And had that been against Toronto there would be Shark blood all over the ice.

I can imagine Zach Johbson responding to a media squid asking if Furyk over played his recent success:
" I'd have my cock out if I shot 59 "

yeah, not really. That's why hockey is awesome.

Yeah, sorry about that.

The Sabres are painful to watch this year.

Rebuilding...At least it's fun watching all the rookies (Grigorenko, Girgensens, Ristolainen) developing. Plus Armia and Zadorov when they're back from injury. That's a lot of rookies.

The hit on Nash was just one of those things that happens when you're Stuart's height and you lay a hit on a guy Nash's height.  It was hardly a cheapshot and if it didn't give a concussion to a star player, it would have been unlikely to draw the Shannahammer.

Also, Hertl plays on the same line as a (lunatic) wookie.  Anyone thinking about going after him might want to have look at Brent Burns first and consider whether that is really worth it.

Still ODing on the free Center Ice... Bruins need to step it up against this Colorado team.

The Rangers of recent history of not sticking up for themselves, or for teammates. Ask Gaborik (or Girardi).

Getting run up? Nevermind.
Nash gets an elbow to the head? Forget about it.
Rookie trys a skills-comp move at the end of a blowout game? ignore it.
Your 40-goal scorer getting punked? just stand next to him and watch.
Team captian and you just took a bad loss "I wont let it ruin my weekend"

We dont have the guys on the team with a sac to do that anymore.

You messed with Adam Graves, he broke your arm, even if you are Mario Lemieux.
Messier would lay out rookies who looked at him funny in pre-season games.
Cloutier would chop legs and run down ice to blast the other goalie in the face.

Prust, Avery, Orr? Your services aren't needed here. Yeah, you can be 6'7" 245#, just don't play like it.

Avs might be a real nhl team this year? I'll be real interested to see how this team maintains this up-tempo pace in the dog days of February.

Kick ass in the first part of the season. Play 500 down the stretch. Sounds like a good plan to me!

What is so laughable about Toronto?
They are 8 minutes and counting from going 4-1 in the season and their only loss
was against a hot Colorado team by 1 goal.  Stellar goaltending. They can score goals. They are a top PK team. Oh and when they fight they win a lot of the fights. And they stick up for each other. Leafs are not a laughing stock anymore. They are a force.

Playing the Canucks?  That's par for the course with that crew.  Nothing the Sharks haven't seen before.  Maybe next time they can make him miss a shift...  They certainly have more hope of that than winning the game.
