If you grew up in a Filipino household, you probably had a pair of these tacky decorations on your kitchen wall:

Giant wooden fork and knife.  Why?  Who knows.

I don't think you had to be Filipino, my WASP household had them.  I guess it was a 70's thing.

Didn't Brad Daugherty have this on last weekend's NASCAR pre-race show? He was using it to select his pick for the guy who is out of the championship contention, hence, stick a fork in him he's done.

Us Italians always had those too. In fact, I still have several on the wall of the kitchen.

Yeah, I guess other groups had 'em.  Didn't know that.

Kids of Filipino immigrant parents joke about it all the time.

When we redid our kitchen a couple of years ago, the wife came back from Hobby Lobby with a giant fork and spoon. They both ended up on the wall. Being a smart husband, I knew better than to say anything. Three weeks ago, I accidentally bumped into the fork, sending it down off the wall onto my bare toes. The toes didn't break, but the fork did. I don't think she's forgiven me yet.

And now, three weeks later, the giant fork is found. Not too far from where I live. IN STATESBORO. It's all connected, I tell you.

/Yeah, I know. CSB.
