You had to open your mouth, Obama.

It is now.

*"Impeachment" meaning just about any satisfying humiliation of Obama a Tea Party member's mind can conceive, up to and including lynching.

Sadly that may just be how it turns out. Of course the Senate would never convict him. That's about as bad as I can imagine. The world economy still crashes and America looks like assclowns on the world stage. Faith in T-bills would be forever damaged and it would take decades to get back to where we are now if that's even possible.

Yeah, like a couple of percentage point increases in unemployment, truly the ends times for the country - thats like Reagan level unemployment there, and everyone is doomed just like back then.

The ridiculous level of opposition to anything and everything Obama does has already cemented his legacy as a civil rights icon.  He'll go down in history as a president who did a decent job in spite of the vitriolic, racist opposition trying to thwart him at every turn.

His detractors get angry when you say that opposition to Obama is based on race, but I have a hard time believing historians will see it any other way when they look at the rise of the Tea Party, its rhetoric, and its tactics.

Given the fact that Mike Lee is is dropping in Utah faster than a mormon's magic panties on prom night, it could be conceivable that Democrats ride a tide to control of the house and senate, thus letting us enact Step 4 in Obama's plan for World Domination. . .oops, did I say that out loud?

Yep. Agreed with others here. They're planning on impeaching him regardless of what he does when we hit the debt ceiling, probably including if he does nothing.

That said, they seem a little confused about what "Impeachment" means, where the vote to remove him from office would take place and who would end up as President in the highly unlikely event that Senate Democrats vote to remove Obama from office.

Even if one accepts the present argument that most Tea Party members aren't racist (and I don't), their failure to refudiate their fringe elements will get them tarred with the same brush in the future.

Oh, it's already beginning to dawn on them - that's why they are eating each other in hysterical rage and terror.
From 1980 to 2008 was 28 really bad years for America - but now we will get the satisfaction of seeing the Right get a flea-bath that will make what happened to them in the sixties look like a picnic.
It's just about time for America to get even with the pigs, and take itself back from them - and a lot of pigs lives will end in bunkers, just like the last pig that f**ked with America. The Koch Brothers  and the Bush family  and all like them need to be thinking about that.
The fat have eaten until they are corpulent and soft - now, we eat them! :D

A president can be impeached for "high crimes and misdemeanors". The definition of such is whatever the hell the House of Representatives believes it to be.  Many Presidents have violated the Constitution without being impeached. In fact only two Presidents have been impeached: Jackson and Clinton. Jackson was impeached for violating a law later declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court and Clinton for providing immaterial false testimony while under oath. Both of whom were acquitted by the Senate and carried out the remainder of their terms.

Her profile says she lives in Atlanta.  While it's got its own set of drawbacks (like Jimmy Carter blvd and the weather), Atlanta's pretty damn metropolitan for the South. Which state is the move to probably matters here.
