Walker: Screens started out curved, then went flat, now curved is cool again. No thanks. I don't want a curved phone or TV screen.[img.gawkerassets.com image 850x478]
Saiga410: Looks curved to fit into back pockets.
Slaxl: Is there a point to curved phones? Do they offer something that's useful?
Saiga410: Looks curved to fit into back pockets....
Nadie_AZ: A nice skip and hop to a larger 'bracelet' type phone/watch. You watch.
Mentalpatient87: Saiga410: Looks curved to fit into back pockets....Which is exactly where I want my thousand dollar electronics. In the least secure, most wear-heavy pocket on me!
RandomAxe: For a thousand bucks, right now, you ought to get one with a roll-out flexible screen maybe 12x20 cm. There are also working fold-out reflective screens, although those are really fragile, but they look cool -- very much like Jason Statham's phone-thing in The One.Flexible screens capable of full-motion color video have been doable for several years, but no one wants to abandon their LCD and LED factories just yet. Not so long as people will pay $1000 for this sort of thing.

Dragonflew: The 64GB iPhone 5S is $919, at least in Canada. Just sayin'.

AmazinTim: I was under the impression that OLED was still 5-10 years off being able to generate blue with any efficiency. This is form a chemist who spends his days researching how to make OLED generate the color blue more efficiently.
Oakenshield: Dragonflew: The 64GB iPhone 5S is $919, at least in Canada. Just sayin'.An estimated 75% of you live within 100 miles of the border. Come on down. In another life, I was employed at MOA, so I have first-hand anecdotal evidence (the best kind) that a whole hell of a lot of you already do.
red5ish: It's a bit pricey for a feature that has no benefit to the user.
abhorrent1: So about the same price as a new iPad?
