Primitive Screwhead: Born with a moustache and a supernova
Tossed off the cliffs of Dover.
Washed up on a far away shore
In the arms of the daughter of the Buffalo.
Mamma said he was the chosen one.
Reverend said he was the other one.
All that pay no mind
Inside his Econoline.

Well, he certainly looks like a swallower of planets.

mooseyfate: Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to watching some Bradyface on the sidelines.

The last occurrence of Saints-related Bradyface was pretty spectacular.

That game was what finally made the public realize that the Saints weren't some flash in the pan. Up to that point I kept hearing everyone saying, "Yeah, well, who have you really played yet?" And remember, this was when the Pats were true royalty, and it was a night game IIRC.

The next morning the country knew who we were, and that we were comin' for 'em.

Yeah, exactly.  That was the big "they're for real" statement game, and it was specTACular.

Jim from Saint Paul: InmanRoshi:  I'm not sure where the hype of Rob Ryan is coming from considering he faced his first good passing defense for the first time last week and allowed their QB an AYPA of 9.4.

Well, alot of it has to do with the Saints giving up more yardage then anyone EVER last year and they have looked more then just "functional" so far.

Thru 5 games, based on yardage:

Falcons   8th ranked offense, had 2 TOs
Bucs    31st offense, had 2 TOs
Caridnals  30th offense, 2 Tos
Dolphins   28th offense, 4 TOs
Bears   11th offense, had 1 TO

Seems to me they are outplaying the teams on their sechdule on D. Which is something last years saints couldn't do. He has helped make them respectable along with the return of the Payton.

A top 15 D with a top 5 offense isn't the worst mix to win a Superbowl. Especially if you get homefield advantage.

PLaying 5 games against 3 teams in the bottom 5 and barely winning a couple is not something to brave about, add to the fact the falcons defense is shiatth as hell and it looks even worse.

They didn't get better with the fat grey beard running them, its the same personnel that gave the most yardage is history last year.

They're not better than last year.  Yep, somebody should've stayed hidden in his hole.

Rooting for the Braves and Falcons until they fold each season has finally took its toll and ate your brain. None of what you said in your last sentence is true.

except, the personnel isn't exactly the same. In fact, a lot of the pieces that were injured last year are in play this year. Add in an upgraded secondary, and a vastly superior defensive line, and you get a top 10 defense. Instead of demonstrating a lack of football knowledge, go spend time helping Brian Mcann and the Chokelanta Braves be the on field commissioners of baseball.

2013:

Saints average starting field position:  30.78   (3rd best in the league)
Opponent average starting field position:  22.93   (3rd best in the league)

2012:

Saints average starting field position:  23.97 (31st. Second to last)
Opponent average starting field position:  29.32 (25th.  Very bad)

Defense has a large part to play in your offense average starting field postion.  They've improved (so far), from 31st to 3rd.

Winning 2 close games (one of those games you make a huge TO to ice the game in the end zone) against division rivals and then slapping around the 3 other teams you played is though.

"Context", good sir. "Context" is important.

The only chump teams New Orleans has faced this year are their NFC South "competition."
