This is surprising. He always took such good care of himself.

"this time the cancer is lethal,"

That could be their next album title.

He was a good guy, gave me backstage passes when I asked for them.

Whatever kills Shane (or Keith Richards), I don't think it'll be cancer.

ol' gormsby: Keith Richards

Keith Richards died centuries ago. If you want to destroy him now, you must seek his phylactery.

We walked him to the station in the rain
And we kissed him as we put him on the train
And we sang him a song of times long gone
Though we knew that we'd be seeing him again

Read that as the "Pope's guitarist". Was really confounded.

The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out
The ones that crawl in are lean and thin
The ones that crawl out are fat and stout
Your eyes fall in and your teeth fall out
Your brains come tumbling down your snout
Be merry, my friends, be merry

/RIP

My band covered that tune. Always a favorite of mine.

I hope that they bury him at sea where no murdered ghost can haunt him. If he rocks upon the waves then no corpse can lie upon him.

Sally MacLennane is a song that should be played at every wake.

Also, The Pogues' version of "The Band Played Waltzing Mathilda" is as good as it gets, in a sad, depressing way.

Interviewed him a couple years ago when the last Radiators from Space album came out in the states.  Lovely guy.  And coulda been my grandfather's twin.

The Abe Vigoda of toothless, drunken self-abuse.
