Republicans have fought hard. They have fought the Reality Principle, facts, logic and obvious truth. They have fought furiously for demented ideas and truthiness. They have fought their way back into the Seventeenth Century and in some cases the Dark Ages.

They deserve a just reward.

For this hour only, I am granting Republicans the ability to fly. Climb up to the tallest tower or highest point of land you can find and jump off. You will fly as free as a bird for the next hour. Gravity and reality will not hinder you in your life-long pursuit of happiness and delusion.

Your money back if not fully satisfied.

Got it. If your 3 year old throws a huge tantrum in the toy store because you won't buy him a toy, he automatically deserves the toy, because he "fought so hard".

These people are dangerous.  If they get their way here, there is absolutely nothing to stop them from doing it again and again.  They will basically have completely contravened the Constitution and set themselves up as the de facto government.  This is why Obama can't give in.  If he does, then basically the House, or rather the tea party, has become the head of the US government for all intents and purposes.  One little faction of one party in one half of one third of the government would, in essence, rule the country.  How very patriotic of them.

I have told my kids from toddlerhood that the more they argue, whine, tantrum, be a pain in the butt, the firmer my NO is. They will not change my mind in that way. Ever.

If you let them get away with that shiat even once, you're screwed.

This works for congressbrats as well.

How would a parent handle the Republican Party's temper tantrum over the government shutdown and impending debt ceiling crash?

Remain calm enough to handle the tantrum properly.

Remember that their tantrum is NOT necessarily a way to "get his way" but could be the result of frustration, lack of needed attention from you, or even a physical problem, like low blood sugar, pain or digestive problems!

Do not reward the tantrum.

Explain to them that you will talk to him or her when he or she calms down.

Avoid trying to reason with anyone who is in the middle of a full-blown tantrum, especially in a public place.

Discuss the behavior with them once the tantrum has ended.

"If it doesn't have a full delay or defund of Obamacare, I know I and many others will not be able to support whatever the leadership proposes. If it's just a repeal of the medical-device tax, or chained CPI, that won't be enough."

Yet it will still be portrayed as "Obama's Fault", of course... He "refuses to negotiate with the GOP, but he'll negotiate with Syria", shiat like that... And even with statements like this, these shiatstains will parrot that line over and over and over and over and over...

You know who else works hard? Illegal immigrants - they work hard for slave wages. We should reward them significantly because they not only are doing what no one else will, but they worked hard to get to this country in the first place.

Also Minimum wage workers. They deserve a lot more concessions than they are getting now.

The answer is no. No concessions to you, none. If the Republicans don't want to pass a clean debt ceiling bill then LET THE ECONOMY BURN! It's not like most of us can fall much further anyway.

If that's his position, then he and the other nutbags need to be moved over to a corner of the House chamber and farking ignored until they come to their senses, because willingly destroying the economy to unlawfully repeal a law is not a rational stand to be taking. Moderate Republicans and Democrats need to stage a coup in the House, take control of the chamber, and pass a clean CR bill (and then a debt ceiling increase bill).

The GOP has flayed all of the Moderates alive, then left them hanging from a stake in front of their offices to die a slow death over he last 5 years, haven't you been paying attention? All hyperbole aside, they really haven't allowed a single person that I can recall who has ever used the word 'compromise' to stay in office.

O.K. Mr Garrett put the gun down and let's talk.

See, I'll let you in on something and you can take this back to your caucus and district, you won.

You have a super majority of Democrats begging for a CR that is lower than Paul Ryan's dream budget.

You won! Congratulations! Now pass the farking clean CR, extent the debt ceiling and open the farking government.
