I'm really rooting for Tampa Bay here... in the event that the Tigers get past Oakland on Thursday, I'd like to be able to make it to at least one of the playoff games I have tickets for, and Sunday would be it.

Red Sox fans, you know you were losing this game when RHB wrote the "We're too good to go to St. Pete column", right?  You can always count on Dan Shaughnessy to be totally farking wrong.

BTW - By trying to invoke CHB incorrectly, you have accumulated negative juju. That shiat can make a difference. If you want to clear the slate, go outside, spin three times and spit.

why the fark is fall out boy used so much in sports?  The light em up song makes sense because its actually about a famous baseball event (take a guess, hint where they're from).  But them and the killers are used ALL THE TIME.

Cool - though I didn't see anything in the lyrics that obviously really called out to that event - what's the connection, other than the band being from there?

within the song or between the band and the event?  The lyrics are vague and ambiguous and can be thought of in terms of disco needing to die, but their idea was supposedly that they wanted to start fresh off of their hiatus and literally burn and begin anew (also inspiration for the best song on the new album The Phoenix).  Again supposedly, they went out to the grounds of comiskey and burned their previous albums.

Kind of a cool story bro, but its ironic when used in promotion of baseball (IMO)

Indeed, that is amusing - but the song is so catchy!  I think of it every time I:
