GOP - No spending approved until you agree to stop Obamacare.
Dems - Nope.
Obama - Who me?
GOP - How about delaying Obamacare until its ready to go?
Dems - Nope.
Obama - I got a thing to go to.  You guys work on this mkay?
GOP - Okay, here are some spending we think should happen, lets talk about a comprehensive budget/bill/etc (psst with no Obamacare!).
Dems - Nope, nope, nope, nope.
Obama - No compromising!
GOP - Ok, we get it.  Lets at least pass a bill that says we will approve back pay.
Dems - Go on.
Senate GOP - WTF?  NO.
Obama - Get me in front of a television stat!  Its high time I've reminded the American public I disagree with those terrorists.
GOP - That's a bit of violent rhetoric there, Mr. President.
Dems - He's right.
GOP - Doesn't matter.  We tried.  See you later.
Dems - Wait.  You can't go.  All the plants will die.

Maybe this is why the Republicans continue to plaster Democrats as fascist appeasers and terrorist negotiators: Because they're terrorists and fascists and the Democrats continue to negotiate with them.

I have to say that the Obama administrations have been horrible at getting their messages across to the masses. I know the Fox News crowd is hopeless but they have consistently failed to reach the majority center with information. Is there something that prohibits the executive branch from doing PSA's or non election year advertising?

CNN has a list of 17 GOP reps that will vote with the Dems for a clean CR.

That's really all there is to it.  They could pass this today if they truly wanted to do so.

2013-10-08 01:26:16 PM
If he has the balls to do anything, he'll call on the moderate Republicans to put country before party, even if it puts them out of office the next time they're up for re-election.

The DNC should even offer to help these folks if they get primaried whether they run as D or I, but I'm talking crazy here.

Obama is an incumbent and he saw what happened last time. He has absolutely no reason to cave.

At first I was thinking "Well, I've got the right to live and work several countries around the world so I could just up sticks and leave for greener pastures". But then I remembered I work in the Construction industry... so... well... maybe I'll go traveling for a couple of years.

That's not what the polls are suggesting. Disaproval of the congressional GOP has skyrocketed while that of Obama and the Dems has been relatively constant.

I feel like there are three groups:

The "Blame Obama" groups and the people who actually pay attention and have some semblance of critical thinking skills have made up their minds on this one.

The "Both sides are bad" groups either a) really actually Blame Obama or b) blame both sides in a bid to seem "fair," but probably don't even vote and won't unless they are very personally affected.

I really have no clue who either side needs to get their message out to. Seems like all of this is red meat to me.

Muta: He'll probably resign.

"Today, I formally accept the resignation of the esteemed Speaker of the House, John Boehner. He, uh, has some words he wanted to say. John?"

"My fellow Americans, I stand here today in an office of my rival, who I had hoped to have ousted through shady means, possibly even legal means. In the last two weeks, I have suffered long and hard from my collegues, both Democrat and Republican alike. I have had my office filled with ping pong balls and bicycles, I've had tennis balls hurled at my head and elephant feces burning on my doorstep. I have looked the demons in the mouth and I accept my defeat. You won, my staff bailed on me shortly after we cut their pay. They've kept quiet because they liked to see me suffer. I throw up my hands, pull down my pants and accept the ass-kicking I have gotten. So I leave you with this one bit of advice. You can't reason with them, you can't argue with them, you can't delay them, quell them or tell them anything. They may be the salt of the earth, but in the end, they're still morons. I'm talking about you, Tea Tards. You can have Cantor, he'll eat your shiat until you tell him it's your shiat. Fark all yall, assholes." *mic drop*

"Thank you, John. Your many years of service will quickly be forgotten, but, uh, that will go down as the greatest concession speech ever,"

He won't cave.

The conversation Reid and Obama had when Obama caved on the debt ceiling/sequester probably had Reid telling Obama it was a mistake to compromise, because it would embolden Republicans to use the debt ceiling and government funding to get what they want, with Obama saying "No, they won't try this again".

Well, they are trying it again.

Obama won't cave this time.

HotIgneous Intruder: All this because some greedy sociopaths don't want uninsured people to have insurance.

That's such a misconception.

I'm a poor person who doesn't want to be MANDATED to purchase something I can't afford so that some company can have more money. ACA just guarantees more money to Big Insurance and Big Pharmaceutical. I don't hate on the ACA because its too liberal, I hate on it because its just helping a giant for profit industry.

I support socializing the medical industry if it means the profits get slashed so people can actually get help they need, not just making drug companies and corporate executives rich.

But that's cool, lump me in with the Tea party because I don't like ACA or gun control.

It's kind of odious.  W Bush used fake newscast spots a while back.

You're not wrong, but the ACA is pretty obviously a first-step towards socialized medicine. It's the ONLY first step that was possible in the current political climate (and the political climate of the last 30 years). For that reason alone, you should support it.

And you can afford it. If you can't, there is assistance. Don't pull out that bullshiat nugget. It doesn't help your case.

That's just a pretext. They would be doing this regardless of what the Democrats did or didn't pass. Having failed to make Obama a one term president they are now trying to either make sure he leaves he second term with people longing for the economy during The Great Depression or force him to break either the debt limit law or laws preventing him from prioritizing payments so they can have a run at Impeachment.

There is also some overlap with the folks who are actively trying to destroy the country for various reasons that don't necessarily involve Obama.
