Barry Goldwater warned them about this. It's nice to see he was right.

He was the first of their kind. Remember that whole "extremism in defense of liberty is no vice; moderation in the face of tyranny is no virtue" thing? Goldwater was full-tilt bozo, make no mistake. He was the derpfather, and one half-bright comment about religious loons doesn't change that - it just reinforces the broken clock theory.

Seems I found one at first glance.

namatad: You two are the first "republicans" which I have ever met who have admitted to switching to anti-R.
I am genuinely interested in how you revisit the past decisions.
Was it as simple as the lesser of two obvious evils.

I went from Democrat, to Republican, to anti-Republican quasi-Libertarian (but like everything else, the label has been stolen by the rhetoric of hypocrites).

I was a Clinton supporter, and voted for Gore. I haaaaated Bush during the 1st term. I thought he was insane. Then I saw how many Democrats in Congress went along with him and voted for his policies, but then later walked it back and made excuses.

I thought Kerry was the epitome of cynical political opportunism (until Romney came along). I ended up supporting Republicans for the last two years of Bush's term to the first two years of Obama's.

For me, Kerry broke any last faith I had in Democrats, and then Romney broke any last faith I had in Republicans. I mean that these guys could even be the nominee.

Obama voted for the banking bailouts as a Senator (he's on youtube saying how important they are) and when you realize BOTH presidential candidates care about the bonuses of wall-street bankers more than the economy of the working class then there's really not much hope.

"I think what he said was horrible. He apologized. However, when you say things, they have consequences and there are people in the county that are still clamoring for him to go so this has become a distraction for the local party to do their job."

You know, it's not my favorite.  I would make edits and I would make it more apologetic.  But honestly, that's good enough.  I'm gonna go ahead and give a kudos to the Florida GOP chairman.  This is so much better than an "I'm sorry they took offense to it."

So, Kudos GOP chairman.

Since the Tea Party infiltration of the GOP, it seems Republican rhetoric has jumped the shark. Yes they always have been jerks but stuff like this was reserved for those anonymous e-mails & robo-calls which gave the establishment plausible deniability from the extreme derp.

I seems as if the Tea Party candidates are those who create, send, forward, and believe that stuff; because now there is no shame in it. Heck some of them are outright proud of being total dicks. They are just a bunch of bullies. Thanks to the right-wing media & culture bubble, they commend each other over who can say the most outrageous things about "libtards"; to the point that they feel such behavior is socially acceptable amongst normal people.

The funniest part is how the GOP is now dealing with an internal civil war thanks to them selling their souls to the Tea Party for votes. That whole Republican "unity" thing isn't as easy when you align yourself with crazy, and that "crazy" expects you to toe their line instead of the opposite (which was expected).

Whole lot of failure of reading comprehension here. No, Morroni wasn't running against this Tucker guy. Tucker attacked a fellow Republican (Morroni) for endorsing the Democrat running against him.

Tucker wasn't looking to score political points against his opponent, he just was being a douchebag and showing sour grapes because his fellow Republican endorsed the guy running against him.

No sense of tumor?

2013-10-08 08:48:37 AM
I have a honest question. Since the article doesn't state it and we believe to know one of the people has cancer. What kind of cancer is it? If it's a brain tumor, wouldn't he have just been asking a question and not taking a pot shot at the other person? I mean everyone seems to want to jump on the ass of the party that they aren't associated with, but if the guy really does have brain cancer, wouldn't that just be a legitimate question instead of an attack, like everyone apparently wants it to be?

And now I'm going to hell.  Thanks for the LOL.  I am going to pay dearly for that.

Mine looks very similar.

so fine, you are anti-R as they currently stand. no problem with that.
I do have one of those serious questions.
When you look back now, ignoring the cheating on his wife, do you think Clinton was:
a) the devil - did NOTHING GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY HATE HATE HATE
b) no better or worse than reagan/bush 1.0
c) oh god I wish I could take my vote back
d) other

You two are the first "republicans" which I have ever met who have admitted to switching to anti-R.
I am genuinely interested in how you revisit the past decisions.
Was it as simple as the lesser of two obvious evils.

/to be honest, mostly clinton. I can give you voting against carter, mondale, dukakis.
/I still voted for C, M and D; but I am a single issue voter, pro-choice. period.

For me, it came to two realizations, neither of which had anything to do with Clinton.

1. Government has a legitimate role in society because many people cannot care for themselves. I came to believe that the welfare state was acceptable, provided it was actively managed to prevent abuse.

2. The GOP was/is fully hypocritical about spending. Since earmark reform, this is much less apparent. I also think the current Tea Party group is sincere about fiscal responsibility. I also think they'd burn the house down if they don't like the kitchen tile.

The Democrats are far from perfect and I'll certainly consider voting for specific GOP candidates. For example, I like Jon Huntsman.
