Conlon and Andrews say Obama committed "treason" by allegedly funneling weapons to al-Qaida-linked rebels in Syria. Members of Congress who support arming Syrian rebels, Conlon said, are accessories to the alleged crime. He identified House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., as politicians he will seek to arrest for alleged acts against the Constitution

100-1 odds this douche thinks Ollie North is an American hero.

So all Democratic members plus a couple of maverick RINO's like McCain and Graham. Sounds like we got some Fark IndependentsTM here. What a brave bunch of souls....to selectively target their pseudo-populist astroturfed anger.

100-1 odds the guy is only vaguely aware of who Ollie North is.

if cops decide to give us a hard time, we're going to lock the brakes up, we're going to stop right there, we're going to be a three lane roadblock."

Then you lose your truck, your license and your freedom.  Moron.

FTFA: "We're not asking for impeachment, we're asking for the arrest of everyone in government who has violated their oath of office."

Strange that everyone they believe has violated their oath of office is a Democrat.  You'd think that if they were really concerned about the Constitution they'd be pissed at the GOP who's trying to subvert it through their destructive hostage-taking techniques.

When your side starts losing you know the old saying: If you can't beat 'em, whine like children, break laws, inconvenience people working for no pay during a shutdown, keep civilians from getting to work, make outrageous threats you have no intention or ability to follow through on, spew verbal diarrhea forth toward every available blogger, whine like children some more, and accomplish nothing.

2013-10-07 04:45:10 PM
And where was their moral outrage when Reagan gave $$ and weapons to Saddam Hussein, armed the Contras, and sold weapons to Iran?? Fools.

Also, damn you, Subby, for putting that shiatty song in my head.

Andrews said last week 3,000 truckers had RSVP-ed to the event, and Conlon says he's now lost count of the number. He says he's receiving around 100 emails a day from prospective participants.

"What we want to do is go in nice and peaceful and keep it as peaceful as possible... but if they decide to get ugly with us we're going to do what we have to do," he said. "If all I get is one or two congressmen walked out of there in handcuffs, that will be a shot across the bow that will ripple across all branches of government. ... I hope they are all civil enough and brave enough to step out onto the congressional steps."

I love it when Internet tough guys run their mouths.

2013-10-07 04:46:29 PM
Well, that's several truckloads worth of stupid right there.

2013-10-07 04:47:31 PM
I'm guessing a grand total of less than 150 people and only 15 of those will have trucks.

2013-10-07 04:50:06 PM
As I mentioned in the redlit thread, I'd like to see on how they plan on "arresting" members of congress.

The funny thing is his claim that they will be driving 55 MPH on the Beltway all day.

Is he even aware of what "rush hour" is?

James!: Wow, the comments on that article have gone full militia.

Why does the NSA need to do domestic surveillance when they could just read facebook comments?

ManateeGag: As I mentioned in the redlit thread, I'd like to see on how they plan on "arresting" members of congress.

I'd like to see what would happen if they actually let them get past the point of clogging the roads. Then what? It's probably like the Joker's speech about dogs chasing cars. Whatever it is, I'm sure it would involve a lot of labored breathing, honking of Jazzies in a sign of unity, and nitroglycerin pills.

Their attempts to disrupt traffic will be disrupted by actual traffic.

I knew as soon as I read the title that "Truckers for the Constitution" was going to be "Truckers Against the Constitution".

Trucker-specific grievances behind the protest include Environmental Protection Agency fuel efficiency standards and the high cost of diesel fuel.
Ah yes, the -1st amendment, cheap subsidized diesel fuel and free asthma for non-truckers.

2013-10-07 04:58:03 PM

James!: I'm guessing a grand total of less than 150 people and only 15 of those will have trucks.

You really only need 5 to 10 to really mess things up. You give me 10 trucks and I could shut down any east coast town.

I remember when they tried this in the late 90s to protest gas prices.

It was bemusing, and will probably be the same kind of non-event.

You mean I could pay you ten bucks and you'd go get yourself arrested?  Sweet deal!

Someone should point out that facebook shares all their info with the NSA.  That ought to send them scattering.

I'm loving the idea of a convoy of trucks plowing through DC traffic, hurling SUVs this way and that. They need to put some steel barriers on their grills, like cowcatchers on trains, to make sure no puny sedan gets caught beneath their wheels and slows them down.

2013-10-07 05:13:26 PM

James!: You mean I could pay you ten bucks and you'd go get yourself arrested? Sweet deal!

Oh hell no. I know how pointless this is. Even if they do have a metric shiat ton of trucks show up it will be useless.

I was just commenting on how horrible the infrastructure in the north east is.

FlashHarry: ten bucks says that a lot of these dumb farkers could actually benefit from obamacare.

Well in order to take that bet I'd have to know exactly what you mean by "a lot". CDL drivers actually have fairly good benefits when it comes to healthcare. Many may be deemed too good and be taxed. Most of those are company drivers. Some if not all of the truckers that would do something like this will be Owner Operators and they are more often then not members of OOIDA. I doubt the current ACA plans would touch these in levels of service for the cost.

It's amazing how deluded these guys are.  I wonder if they realize that those CDLs can be suspended or revoked or if they really think that they are going to beat up the police?  Especially in DC of all places.

2013-10-07 05:31:40 PM
This is about as derp as the 2 million motorcyclists to Washington DC last month.

2013-10-07 05:32:03 PM
This is going to be like one of those "million man" marches where eleven people actually show up.

I don't think the average owner-operator could do better than Obamacare.

That's what the lamestream MSM said.  Really it was at least 9 billion people who showed up for Glen Becks protest.

Maybe they mean that that they will be driving 55mph, pushing everyone stuck in traffic out of their way.

Which would be pretty farking awesome to watch.

Marcus Aurelius: Let me guess who they want arrested.  Is it Democrats?  Because I bet it's Democrats.

Apparently truckers are really mad about the whole "giving weapons to Syrian rebels" thing. Uh...really? THIS is what you're focusing your anger on? Okay, then.

While you on the left -being the party of consistency-, feel zero is an American hero and not a douche bag.

I know, I know, it's only bad when the other party does it.

Transportation industry related group doesn't get its way on something unrelated.  Decides to shut down transportation at the expense of everyone else.

Sounds awfully familiar....

Traveling at a legal speed is not obstructing traffic. Critical Mass is obstructing traffic and those idiots rarely get ticketed much less jailed. Try again.

'Cause we got a little ol' convoy
Rockin' through the night.
Yeah, we got a little ol' convoy,
Ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on and join our convoy
Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way.
We gonna roll this truckin' convoy
'Cross the U-S-A.
Convoy!

They should just drive the trucks through Congress.

=)
