Wonder if the Packers would make a move for him. Seneca Wallace still doesn't know the playbook and his receiver timing is off. We have the cap space to sign Flynn to a cheap contract. Unless some other team is looking for a QB.

Option QB outplays pocket passer behind a front line of swiss cheese and receivers you've never heard of?  I'm shocked!

Too many teams are looking for a QB for him to sit too long.

Not bad, Flynn. Not bad.

He's not much, but he has to be better than anything in Jacksonville.

He can click his heels together and repeat "there's no place like home" until he wakes up back in Green Bay.

Was there any truth to a team making a call to JaMarcus this past week? Flynn has to be ahead of him.

What the hell is the deal with this guy? I know he can play. He set the Packers' franchise record for TD passes in a single game a couple of years ago, for crap's sake!

Is he an a**hole in the locker room, or what? O_o

Flynn. Gridiron. Game grid. There's some Tron realted post in here somewhere but I can't put it together.

He's the smartest football player ever. Get 10s of millions of dollars, play 3 games.

BRILLIANT!

Tebow is still available.

For the Raiders, who traded away a fifth-round pick for Flynn, this is an embarrassment that is compounded by the embarrassment of spending a fourth-round draft pick on quarterback Tyler Wilson and then cutting him before the start of the regular season.

Absolutely not.  It's a sign of a mature front office.  Not everything you do will pan out.  The key is to recognize the bad moves quickly and move on.  A bad front office would double down on its sunk costs.

Flynn needs to go back to holding Rodgers' nutsack.

Terrelle Pryor's passer rating last night was 135.7 - that's pretty good.

Sure, but it was against a team that couldn't even get a pick-six against Matt Schaub. And you can't tell me it's hard because EVERY OTHER OPPONENT has done it this year.

Also: fumbled thrice, losing two

Yeah, writers have reeeeeally been stretching things to make Flynn sound worse than he actually is. Like always using the term "meaningless" when referencing his 6 TD game. Yeah, it was meaningless...for the Packers, so he posted those TDs without their top WR and TE (though some might say that losing Finley gave him an advantage, at least in the completion percentage and INT battle).

Dude's a decent QB, but he's not going to be out there making Tony Romo plays - if his line sh*ts the bed on him, he's going to get sacked. I'm sure Green Bay would love to have him back - he'd be a hell of a lot better than Seneca Wallace.

He'll be alright with a solid line.

In the Washington game he had zero pocket awareness. Now I'm not knocking him because he can't escape like Pryor, but he was standing back there way too long waiting for receivers to get open, leading to the 7 sacks and buckets of fumbles.

He played a very ugly game and many of his completions were dump offs.

There has to be a reason the Pack haven't scooped him already. He knows their playbook, he's better than Wallace, he's cheap (now).

Troy Smith got that treatment out of college too, before mobile QBs were all the rage in the NFL. Then he gets sick during training camp and for Baltimore, everything came up Flacco. Seeing Troy in San Francisco made me wonder what might have been.

Flynn had a good career as a backup.  However outside of one brilliant game, he has shown an inability to do anything to warrant a starting job in the NFL.  There is no shame in that as it is an extremely difficult group to break into. He simply lacks the abilities that are presently in demand in the NFL of a more mobile QB who can threaten the run but still complete a high percentage of passes.  He is a more classically styled pocket passer, who doesn't have timing down and therefore is getting destroyed in the pocket. After the recent performance and what occurred over the past two years, I have to say it will be difficult to gain another opportunity.

Oh Jesus you're one of THOSE. Troy washed out of what, four different teams?

And it's not like the Ravens are averse to a smaller, mobile QB as a back-up. Tyrod Taylor's had the spot for what? 3 years now?

Troy couldn't play at the NFL level and that's why he's not playing in the NFL.

How about Denver picking him up?  They have two "who the heck are these guys" backups and an offense built around Manning who just managed to run in a total surprise because "he can't run" TD so they would be a good fit because the offensive line is built that way.  His deficiencies would be masked and his attributes would fit in with the offense the Broncos run, and lets face it I don't think the Broncos really want to go through the Jim Sorgi experiment.
