FAKE

2013-10-07 03:43:00 PM
Should have figured it was viral marketing for the movie - fake candid camera crap is so fake.

2013-10-07 04:31:33 PM
Great marketing stunt. Funniest thing I've seen all day.

DarkJohnson: Should have figured it was viral marketing for the movie - fake candid camera crap is so fake.

This.  Having seen a zero evidence for telekinesis in my lifetime, but having seen tons of evidence for people setting this kind of stuff up, I'd automatically think "huh, where are the cameras?"

2013-10-07 05:11:47 PM
well I liked it, so thanks subby

I find it hilarious as well.

I would shiat bricks if I saw that.

Hey, even if it was fake, it was fun to watch.  Kinda felt dirty at the end for getting suckered into an ad, though.

2013-10-07 05:28:18 PM
Yeah, that one made me laugh. Imagine walking in on that...on weed.

Don't they have to fake it, due to liability of a random person having a heart attack, panic attack, etc.? Plus, they would have to keep doing takes all day to get the reactions they wanted, if they got them at all.

I thought the customers looked convincing, except the construction worker's overacting.

/Nonetheless, it's a great clip.

The person that needs decaf was the editor of that monstrosity who intercut so many clips together ruining them all.

However, the table effect was pretty cool.

2013-10-07 06:02:14 PM
I found that rather entertaining. Still not going to watch the new Carry movie though.

2013-10-07 06:06:00 PM
My guess is that if you made two versions of the clip, one with Carrie one without, showed it to people, let the movie come out, and surveyed the same groups, you would find more people who saw the clip without the Carrie crap would have gone to see the movie Carrie then in the other group.

Everyone in the coffee shop were actors, just the people buying coffee weren't in on it.

Are you saying that the customers buying the coffee were actors who signed releases...but were asked something like, for example, to show up at coffee shop to discuss an unrelated script or whatever...but then were unwittingly subjected to the prank?

2013-10-07 08:27:11 PM
I have no idea, I thought all the seated and loitering customers were actors and the people who came in to buy coffee were unwitting marks but your explanation works too.

2013-10-07 08:40:31 PM
Awesome. That would have freaked me out if I had been there.

Oh, sure they were.

They're not going to spend the time and money on something that elaborate and with that level of production value, and not ensure a completely controlled environment. Actors, all. I guarantee.

I'm as jaded as they come but dammit I want to believe.

At the very least maybe they were actors who had no idea what they were in for like  zvoidx said.

I am just sad they're re-making another movie.

fark you Hollywood, you're out of ideas and it's sad to watch.

If she could do all that she could make the liquid come out of the computer.

If I saw the dude climb up the wall like that, especially with an obvious slit in the wall, I would have walked over and yanked the wire up for all to see.

Of course, I'd be the first to die in a horror movie.... groovy.

Lame viral marketing. I like the classic and easy pranks done just to piss people off like this old one.

SOOO wish this was real!

1. Seduce girl, using fake name and home city
2. Get her to To crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
3. (disappear and resume my normal life)

Fake? How the hell is this fake. It's fake to the people in the coffee shop, but not us watching the video. Everything was real, the rig pulling the guy up the wall and the books flying off the shelves were all achieved by real mechanisms.

That's why this thread was done in one. the comment at the top was just funny.

Put my vote in for the ordering customers to be just Regular ShmoesTM. The rest were actors, as specifically stated in the vid.

2013-10-08 11:30:41 AM
My vote for real customers too.  Because, like true New Yorkers, when the shiat came down they said "What the fark," then turned and walked out of the shop.
